Do the right thing! Have one register at Siena or whoever and get both.
Surely this would work, just give money to someone like Siena for them to buy him, then just buy him straight off them. Even if he's a non-EU player, we'd be buying it from a club inside Italy so the rule wouldn't effect it.

That's what we did with Mutu, right?

Thanks.

So again, I seriously doubt Krasic would accept having a year without football.
You're welcome. :)

Rather than doing that deal involving Siena, I think signing Krasic for this season and make a deal with Wolfsburg for Dzeko to come next summer would be nice too as Trezeguet's contract will expire in 2011 and we could save a great deal from his wage bill..

This might lower their asking price as well.

He wouldn't have to. Siena with their massive savings account can shell out 30M for Dzeko and sign him. One day later, we give them an offer they can't refuse. 30M + Ekdal  He hasn't played for them yet and we sign him from within Italy. No problem.

They could loan him to us for a season

Dzeko would then have to wait a year, when I think he wants to go to a big club now.

Ahh, this is annoying. Just one season I want two non EU players, the rules can change next season :D

Why are we dicking around and not purchasing Krasic right away?
Dzeko is a great talent and would be a fantastic buy, but we have Amauri and Trezeguet and Edin coming this season wouldn't solve all our problems. Not getting a good winger like Krasic would be more detrimental than not getting Dzeko.

Using Siena to transfer Dzeko or Krasic through would be the perfect way. Most likely better with Krasic as he wants to come to us more, and might be willing to do it. He wouldn't register for Siena and wouldn't play any games. He'd come straight to us the day after signing for them and play for us next season, he wouldn't need to be anywhere near Siena for more than a day.

When we signed Mutu, we had already signed 2 non-eu players from outside Italy that season, so we gave money to Livorno who signed him in January, and we bought him straight of them and he played for us. He didn't need to play for Livorno, we just used them to get past the non-eu rule. This would be exactly the same case.

So we'd get Krasic and Dzeko and problem solved.

With Mutu, I thought we couldn't play him until the end of the season, but it turns out he was banned from football in that period anyway so it doesn't matter.

Sounds good, but there must be a catch. Apart from having to ditch two non EU players (I get the impression one is gone already).
