I think we can all agree that history can never be completely objective, but historians should strive towards forced objectivity when dealing with a subject. Thats the commonly accepted perception now a days, atleast in Europe.

Thats still not right - Even if it is being recorded it is still subjective - Why was it recorded? How was it recorded (angle etc.)? and then it comes down to how the source is interpreted by you and others than see it.

Thats why I don't bother with the debate on subjection when it comes to history because the further you go into it the more pedantic it becomes.
Yoy know what I mean :)
But I agree with you. It just seemed like you have another view on things.

I mean if i leave the UK right now I owe barclays £11 000 and I don't have an MA, if i leave in august next year after i hand in my diss - I have an MA. If you can justify leaving and owing money for nothing then you are a stronger person than I. If I run out on the debt then my parents have to pay it, which I wont let happen.
Yes, I understand that. But again: it's a choice. And you can make money somewhere else too. I think it's very sensible to stay in the UK right now. But it's not right to present it as if you don't have options. Because you do. No one is making you stay. I also think that if you look at it like that, you become a happier person. Because then you realise that, in fact, you are in control.

That is an interesting perspective, I hadn't thought of it like that.

There isn't going to be any more big wars between powerful countries because of one thing: $$$

There may be some smaller crises like the recents events in Libya in some places like Eastern Europe, Asia, South America or the Middle-East but no direct fighting between bigger countries because money rules the world these days. And not to mention nukes, not even someone like kim-jong il is crazy enough to launch one. Of course there could always be a terrorist organisation that manages to get a nuke and launch/detonate it but the real world isn't like call of duty or 'the sum of all fears' where it would escalate into global conflict.

I doubt anything will happen in Iran too. The western media makes Ahmadinejad look like a mad man but he is not even the most powerful man in the country. There's no way that he could persuade the real leaders to launch a nuke at israel or wherever (if they even had one) because the consequences would be massive. No major country would support them (Russia, China etc) and they would get fucked up by everyone.
