What about Gianluca Curci from Roma?
He showed his potential while playing for a half of season there. He is just 20 years old but he is great IMO.
Even Pellizzoli is ruled out(now he is at Palermo).
Curci is young, good for the future ,I think.
He surely is much better backup keeper than Chimenti, and investment for the future !Bonnefoi is young too,but he don't have minimum experience.

If I had to chose a keeper I would without any doubt go for DeSanctis.
He is just terrific. He wore Juve's Jearsey before,, and did say he was terrific. He is very reliable. Great on one-on-one. Good penalty keeper. Knows how to stand. Good build. I mean he is just perfect.

He is....

but would he want to be the first goalie only for 2 months
and then be benched...

and i think he would cost us lots of money

I think Cudicini would be the best solution.

he makes a bit more blunders then Gigi, but all in all he is very consistently can deliver on a world class level. He has no chance to play at Chelsea, whil at juve he would start at least for three months, but i think closer to a half season. He would we willing to come i think, because he could get back to the spotlight, what might give him some chance to get a place in the NT.

We could either loan him, or buy him from Chelsea. We will have enough time to dicide what to do with him, till Buffon got back to full strenght.

As I read through this thread, it almost seems like the panic of a sinking ship...............

We are in some deep shit, boys !!!

Now that its confirmed that Gigi needs surgery, dont be surprised if we dont see him till february - healing, physical therapy, training.........

With this in mind, someone get onto the batphone, call Moggi, and..DEMAND PAGLIUCA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think Abbiati is our best bet. The Italian international joined Genoa from Milan this summer but that move is now in doubt as a result of the Rossoblu’s demotion to Serie C. It remains to be seen whether Milan would loan such a player to a title rival though.

Pagliuca and Matteo Sereni r other options.

You really think Abbiati would like to come and play just a few months at Juventus just to sit back down on the bench again when Buffon returns? It would be Milan all over again. That's why he got himself out of there in the end, to find first-team football.

And deserves to end his career on a high, with a club like Juventus. Now that would be awesome, wouldnt it?
You mean like playing for 3 months and then spending the rest of the season on the bench?

19-year Buffon made his debut in Squadra Azzurra in 1997 replacing injured Pagliuca on the 20th minute of the game against Russia. I've watched that game and Gigi was magnificient. Thanks to his magical saves in hard snowy conditions Italy played 1-1.
Now it's Pagliuca's turn to come in and replace Buffon.

Given that Buffon is out for at least 3 months, I agree that we need a new keeper although it wouldn't surprise me if Moggi denies the need for a new one and sticks with Chimenti.

Assuming we get a new one, then we should get one on loan. No point in having 2 great keepers when 1 will stay on the bench for the back end of the season.

Pagliuca will probably not want to join us.....but if he is keen and he is dirt cheap, then hell yeh.

But I think if we do get someone its most likely to be Abbiatti. He is a good keeper and he would be loaned to us. Maybe we can have him until January and then ask his if we wants to be loaned out to another club for first team football.

Cudicini could be another good option. He is a really good keeper - he is far too good to be a reserve for Chelsea.....we should buy him and then loan him out next year. Makes sense to me too.

Hopefully, we end up with a good keeper to replace Buffon because I wouldn't be surprised if he is not back until January - which happens to coincide with the next transfer window.
