Juve consider Miccoli sale Wednesday 19 January, 2005

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fiorentina could be a step closer to buying on-loan striker Fabrizio Miccoli from Juventus as the Bianconeri bid for Javier Mascherano.

Juve chief officer Antonio Giraudo and Viola President Diego Della Valle yesterday denied talking business when they met in Milan for a League summit.

However, with three players currently in co-ownership between the two sides, they must resolve the future of Miccoli, Enzo Maresca and Giorgio Chiellini.

Chiellini seems destined to play for Juventus next season, after Fabio Capello insisted that the international defender was in his plans. But the Viola could obtain the services of Maresca for £3.5m and Miccoli for £5m.

Miccoli has already said that he would be delighted to sign for Fiorentina, but the price tag may be a bit steep for Della Valle. In that case, another year of co-ownership could be on the cards.

Elsewhere, Juve have also entered into the running for River Plate’s Javier Mascherano. The Argentine midfielder is already being chased by Chelsea and Inter, but the Bianconeri have an ace up their sleeve.

Juve still own Marcelo Salas, who is currently at River Plate, and could strike an exchange deal for the two players.

If we sell Maresca I'll be pissed, but... MASCHERANO! :extatic:
Yes goal.com wrote we'd offload Appiah to clear a non eu-spot, to be able to get Mascherano .We might even get Mascherano as soons as january,To prefent him from joining anyone else!

    Mascherano in, Appiah out.

    Win, Win situation?

Seems like getting both wouldn't be so easy though I have ot admit, whether getting Mascherano or calling Maresca back. I realy like to see Maresca back in Juve......

Mascherano would be a good addition to the squad, and if he does come i wouldn't be all that against selling Maresca any more,as long as Fiorentina pony up some cash.

Considering we got 7m for half of Miccoli, imo we should press Viola for at least that same amount for the other half of his contract.

I thought we got 9M euro for Miccoli, but never mind.

Maresca is in my opinion better then Blasi. His tackling skills are somewhat less, but all his offensive qualities are so much better then Blasi's. I think Blasi is a big talent (although he is almost 25) but Maresca would be better for the balance of the team. When the opposition is defending we do not have enough creativity to break through.

David Pizarro would be even better then Maresca, but he doesn't have the history with the club. (Pizarro's contract expires at the end of this season, doesn't it? Wasn't he frozen out of the squad last year because of this?)

Miccoli shuts Juventus door Monday 14 February, 2005

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fiorentina ace Fabrizio Miccoli has ruled out a return to Juventus at the end of this season.

The Italian international is currently at Fiorentina after the Bianconeri sold a half-share in him last summer.

The Turin giants could move to recall him at the end of the campaign but Miccoli seems uninterested.

"I’m not thinking about the past now," he told TG5 on Monday afternoon. "That experience is over for me."

Miccoli is proving to be a success at the Artemio Franchi and he scored in yesterday’s 2-1 win over Parma.

"It was a really important game for us and I didn’t know whether to come off or not given that I was struggling with cramp," he added.

"But I remained and scored the second goal which proved crucial. However, the whole team played well."

Miccoli has admitted that he would like to remain with the Viola but reports suggest that Palermo are very keen to sign him for the 2005-06 campaign.

The Rosaneri are hoping to do business with Juventus and then reach an agreement with Fiorentina.

    we dont need him anyway:(

It isn't an either or situation. If there's anyone we're gonna sacrifice it should be appiah. We could easily have both Maresca and Blasi in the team.
