No, he just destroys play and makes simple passes. The problem is he's not even that good defensively. He just sits in the center of the pitch.
Sounds like a decent signing non the less. Could come useful in big team games, and helping us not concede goals against lesser teams. I wouldn't mind him playing behind two CM's if he plays like any thing you just said.

:confused2

He wouldn't add anything against lesser teams.

The guy is probably going to rot on bench, then loaned to midtable teams until he is contract expires. He is just a decoration, to fill a space nothing else. Definitely not a part of the plan

We are not in Europe next year. We don't need bench players. Pazienza knows his role, is cheap, keeps his mouth shut and plays his ass off. We sell Sissoko and pocket the difference of 5-8M. No brainer.

Neither will play much next year, if we're healthy, of course.

Why sign him at all then? Isn't that the fucking point?
The fucking point is that Pazienza is close enough in quality to Sissoko that you can get him for free, sell Sissoko for money, and not lose much.

Not a hard concept to understand.

He actually is not. The only thing he's better at is he doesn't give the ball away as much as Sissoko. This player isn't good enough to be on the team, period.

Neither of them are. One is free. One will net us some money if sold. Who do you choose?

Seems like this another one of Marotta's attempts to save on wages through skimping on quality.

Same gamble that was taken last summer and we all know how that worked out.

Not really skimping on quality here. It's a like for like move. Both backup players of similar quality. If we can improve the starting XI at least, it will be an upgrade.
