Even if we had a 25 year-old Paolo Maldini at left-back, some here would still complain about formations with Hazard or Giovinco or Dzsudzsak or Elia or pretty much any good attacking player on the left-side.
giovinco dzsudzsak and elia lack the talent. hazard, wel depends on the fullback

Bastos rules out Juventus

Lyon wing-back Michel Bastos has ruled out leaving the club this summer amid interest from Juventus.

It's no secret Juventus made a bid for the Brazil international at the end of last season.

Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has since encouraged Juventus to make another offer.

Interviewed by L'Equipe, Bastos said: “It's doesn't suit me to talk about Juventus or the market in general.

“At the moment I am not thinking about leaving Lyon.”

Bastos has a contract with Lyon until 2013 and is said to be worth €20m.

Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham are also reportedly interested.

- What a misleading title

Bastos is a very good player but I would rather get Vargas at this point. He is also 27 years old, proven in Serie A and is not recovering from an injury. We should try to swap Martinez and some other crap for him :D

They are very similar players but I prefer Vargas :)

The General manager of Juventus, Giuseppe Marotta, answered to Tmw questions at Scouting Forum 2011.

Damiani told us that 15 millions are too much for Bastos. What do you think?
"Yes, we are thinking to less money".

Say whuut???

Bastos would be sweet though.
I'll be honest, before I started reading peoples thoughts on him on this forum, I had only heard good things about him. Seeing as how I've barely seen him play personally, I'm taking it that he's not worth losing a non-eu spot over, or for that matter relying on him to be our main purchase for the left side, judging by the majority of members feelings towards him?

I beg to differ and state my unpopulair opinion. I think Bastos is a good player, surely not becoming better or world class but he would be a huge upgrade for our left side. I've seen some people here call him inconsistent and all but look at Krasic for example, another player who lacks some proper qualities, like using his left foot, shooting in general and crossing but still he has had an amazing impact on our squad. I would say Bastos would be just as good as Krasic has been for us and with that thought comes some desire to sign him for the right price. If Martinez goes and he comes then I wouldn't know what would be wrong with going for him. It's not that we are going for Neymar anyway.

Fair point, I wouldn't be completely opposed to the idea of signing him but I just feel that there's got to be more talented candidates out there who may only cost the same or a couple million more.

He is "good player" better than what he have now , like Ahmed saied "Not Champion" .
For sure he would be upgrade , but fu*k im tired from thouse "upgrades" , look at Inter they "almost" signed Tevez , want's Sanchez .
I want Real JUVENTUS , i'm tired for fighting for CL spot , old time's 2nd/3rd position was fail , now would be consideret as succes :sergio:

If we want to be back when we was wee need World Class player , example instead of Bastos we should go fo Bale :eyebrows: .

I know it's sound crazy but we are big club , and Juve should spend 35 mln E on him take risk , he would be amazing , like i saied before "Best player on market" , Bale/Neymar for me right now are the only players who can be on the same level as Messi,Ronaldo .

If we can't get Bale , we should try hard for Neymar , him at @SS would nice (My 2nd choice after Bale) .

We better spend 40 mln E on Bale , or 30 mln E on Neymar than 40 mln E on : Montolivo,Gillardino,Zaccardo :frown: .

Batos like LB isn't good enough , for that position we should try to sign Aly Cissokho , Coentrao , Baines .

  • Buffon
  • VDW - Bonucci - Chiellini - Cissokho
  • Krasic - Melo - Marchisio - Bale
  • Matri - Quag

VDW - 12
Cissokho - 18
Bale - 35
--------------
65 milion E

For me would be nice

While Bastos isn't a 'champion' and he wouldn't be my first choice I'd gladly take him.

This is how it'll play out this summer for those who don't know.

We'll be linked with Bastos ridiculously until we're 'days away from completing the deal', at which point one of two things will happen.

A. He'll remain with Lyon and dismiss all speculation ever linking him with us.
B. Sign for another club.

And we'll probably end up with Daniele Mannini.

I hope I'm wrong.
