After watching that video it would be ice to have a guy who can actually shoot hard and hit the net at the same time outside the 18. Plus he has free kick abilities which is something we dont have outside of Del Piero and again add Pirlo. We'd be set up alot better but still require a few more players.

I'd prefer Bastos over vargas
He's brazilian fore pete's sake :seven
Ok. Bastos plays as a left winger and Vargas is a defender, where is the problem? They both could play together. I understand that a player like Vargas are very sharp and he does everything on his flank, but damn he always start the match as a defender.

If we bought him it would be as a winger. There forth...the comparisons. I don't see us getting both as that would be 30m in total. Also bastos can also play LWB btw.

Vargas is the better player out of the two, him and Jovetic could get in to any squad in Europe:tup:

suppose we will play 4-4-2, which seems to be certain if Conte arrives, and we sign Pirlo we will definitely need a player on the left who is defensively strong
I believe that would exclude Hazard
Bastos is allright but it will be a gamble
for once I hope the board knows what they are doing

Man, i understand that your sentiments to Vargas are much bigger than Bastos. But you must understand that either of them would be fantastic buy, knowing who we have at this position now. I am permanent Calcio watcher and i can say i'd prefer Vargas over Bastos, but when i take a look to stats and other guys opinions it becomes doesn't matter. They are both good players and mainly Juve's material.

Vargas is good but bastos is better as a winger, there is more speed in bastos. If we get vargas i would like him to play inthe defens because in my opinion he's better there.

Sooo, if we will sign Vargas for the next season we reach CL and with Bastos we won't, right?

alvin, listen to this man

we need a leftwinger with characteristics both players have.
both would be a great improvement, both also have their points in wich one is better then the other

in the end, getting one of both would be very nice

AMEN. And because Bastos' agent is talking about a move, I'm quite calm we'll get Bastos.

Yh after watching a video on youtube:lol:

Everybody looks better on Youtube - even Vargas. Get over it...regardless of what you think in your one-tracked brain, everything shows that Bastos is the slightly better player. More unpredictable for defenders, more assists, more goals = better player.

Yh he's "awesome" and not even in the brazil squad:lol::sergio:

He WAS not in the Brazil squad because he was injured...Do some reading before you come on here and make a fool of yourself.

While Vargas and Jovetic are both solid players, saying they can waltz into any team in Europe is a big stretch. Neither are world-class and such a statement should be reserved for only world-class talent. I'm not saying that Bastos is already world-class, but he certainly has a better record and more recognition in international football than Vargas...if only for his Champions League, pre-World Cup and World Cup showings. FACT is Bastos has produced more, more often for his respective teams than either player. Having said that, they are all good.
