Which is why I don't want him here in the first place. The first formation is better than the second.

1st:

Motta - Bonucci - Chiellini - (Some good LB)

Krasic - Melo - Marhisio - Pepe

2nd:

Motta - Bonucci - Chiellini - De Ceglie

Pepe - Melo - Marhisio - Bastos
What about 3rd
Motta - Bonucci - Chiellini - Bastos

Pepe - Melo - Marhisio - Elia

Bastos is close to a done deal, his money will be from Chiellini's sales.
Chiellini`s sales? Is Chiellini making a yard sale?

Really, Fred? I don't watch a ton of Ligue 1, but I saw him on the left... at least I'm pretty sure I did, anyway. :D So basically, he plays the same position that Martinez played at Catania last season?

We definitely need to sign Krasic.
Don't get me wrong, he played on the left too last season. But most of his games where on the right, that is for sure. At the start of the season the front three looked like this

Lisandro----Gomis----Bastos

Gomis didn't do so well, so after a while Lisandro was shifted to the center and Delgado was put on the left. All the while Bastos and Govou were being rotated together. Puel does a fair bit of rotation though, so Bastos got some games on the left too. But the left was occupied first by Lisandro then by Delgado. So in most cases Bastos was playing on the right.

For further proof, forget the Ligue, look at Lyons setup in the CL. If you watched the game against Liverpool, Bastos was played on the right, you can check out the highlights, he had quite an interesting battle with Insua, Lisandro was played on the left in that game. Against Fiorentina it was the same, Lisandro on the left and Bastos on the right. Against Real he didn't play, against Bayern, Delgado was on the left and Bastos was on the right, against Bordeaux it was the same story.

So actually even in the CL, Bastos never, not even once(I'm not sure about the Debrecni game, i cannot recall that one) started a game on the left.

I'd take Yannis Tafer instead.
Tafer is pretty good too

I see, I see. Yeah, I watched the Bordeaux matches, but missed the other CL games. Of course I don't need further proof, buddy... although I do love highlights. You're the Ligue UNGH expert!

Finally got a new cable package, so I'll be tuning in to some French football this season... definitely looking forward to it.

You won't regret it mate, i'm sure you won't. Everything is great about the Ligue, the fans, the football, the players, the stadiums, the atmosphere and one of the things that distinguishes the Ligue is the directing, cameramen and directors focus a lot on skills, nutmegs and things like that

Klin, your first squad with Pepe on left and Bastos in second squad is insanity. Bastos is twice as player as Pepe
Of course he is. But it is even more insane having a whole left wing covered by Bastos and De Ceglie though. That would have made sense if we had a good defensive LB instead, which sadly De Ceglie isn't. Pepe is a type of player who is needed in every team. What he does is purely running, but he covers a lot of ground as well.
