Why is everybody insisting on him playing as a left back? What if we play De Ceglie as a LB and Bastos as a left winger? Pepe can play on the right - I don't see why nobody has mentioned it.

Bastos - Marchisio - Melo - Pepe

or

Pepe - Marchisio - Melo - Krasic

Definitely a LW, all the way. It's interesting that he could be pressed into duty at LB if needed, but I would think that we'd be buying him instead of Krasic (because Pepe and Martinez can play the right - and the EU thing), and still purchasing a LB. If that weren't the case, it would be a very poor move by Marotta, IMO.

would rather spend that sort of money on a very good lb, anyway if we get him theres no Krasic which 95% is a done deal
I know.

But we're looking to solve our winger problem and it's either him or Krasic.

If he comes I think he's going to be our left winger while Pepe will take the right side. I also think if that happens that we'll stick to De Ceglie.

Which is why I don't want him here in the first place. The first formation is better than the second.

1st:

Motta - Bonucci - Chiellini - (Some good LB)

Krasic - Melo - Marhisio - Pepe

2nd:

Motta - Bonucci - Chiellini - De Ceglie

Pepe - Melo - Marhisio - Bastos

Actually he played most of his games on the right hand side of the front three at Lyon last season, so it isn't true that he is only a left winger. @Aaron, he played there against Liverpool too btw.

Delgado mostly occupied the left flank at Lyon, the right side was between Govou and Bastos.

What? It's true! I don't know why Puel played him.
Actually, that smilie was directed at Jacks post.

I agree with yours, Lyon should look for better alternatives to Govou. They have Briand now, who can play on the right, plus they have the young Alexander Lacazette, who looks really promising.

Really, Fred? I don't watch a ton of Ligue 1, but I saw him on the left... at least I'm pretty sure I did, anyway. :D So basically, he plays the same position that Martinez played at Catania last season?

We definitely need to sign Krasic.
