No two ways about it, Ballack is definitely better than the options we have at the moment, but i guess i just fear that if we really did bring him to Turin it would be at the expense of an Aimar or Riquelme like player, so I wouldnt really be in favour of this move.
Capello will probably deploy a straight 4-4-2 next season, so we can forget about buying a natural playmaker, especially Riquelme. Capello loves these midfielders who can do it all in midfield, just like Ballack.

I would prefer Gerrard....no wait, I would prefer Ronaldinho.

We could "prefer" anybody, but it's a useless concept.

People need to take into account what formation we're likely to go with next season. As you said, Capello will probably stick with the 4-4-2 and players like Riquelme and Aimar don't suit that system. Xavi would fit nicely in it but let's face it, he's not leaving Barca. Gerrard would be an equally good acquisition but please people, try to keep it real. To me David Pizarro seems a very good choice as he can add some much needed creativity to our midfield but unlike Riquelme and Aimar he can also put in a good shift in a deeper position. Same goes for Rosicky who isn't that brilliant of a defensive player but makes up for it with other qualities.

    1. ballack suits the current system

    2. he has experience and is a world class player who probably hasnt settled in well at Bayern. One thing we know about Capello, he is able to get the best out of his players as he did with camoranesi.

    3. he offers us the option of changing the formation

    4. he is an upgrade on just about anyone at the club for that partner role next to emerson.

what exactly isnt to like about this?? Xavi aint leaving barca....Moggi wont spend 30 million on Gerrard and Pizarro isnt exactly buying a house Turin as we post here.

And lets forget about names like riquelme, aimar, rosicky...because as long as capello is there, they wont be joining.

ballack won't leave Bayern. And if he does he will go to Real. You guys don't have any Germamedia coverage. Anyone from Germany or Austria will confirm my statement!

Look, probably he will really not leave Bayern, but if he does, we'we got he same chances as Real does. We give Nedved + € to Real and take Ballack from Munich.

    Hoo-Hoo-No.

As for Ze Vs. Ballack, Ze might be older but he is better. No doubt about that. Ballack is the most overated player in the bundesliga, whilst there is no doubt he is good, he does not compare to Emerson, for example, and would cost a dime to lure Bayern's and Germany's so called ' Star player '.

I fear the same. Even though the 4-4-2 isnt a bad way to go, Id prefer a three pronged attack to bring some fluidity to our game with the acquisition of Mutu/Cassano. Besides, I think id be happier if we got Pizarro, coz he's going to be fresh and more importantly, hungry for success.
