The reason i feel this is because when comparing the two, id say Ballack is probably the better player, but he's not the man to revolutionise our midfield. When taking into account that we're talking about him being on the bench, then id much rather have ZeReberto because his style of play fits ours. Less flair, more run and better ball winning skills, not to mention.

    What are you talking about? Ballack would not sit on the bench, he would start next to Emerson in midfield. Too much quality to sit on the bench for Blasi, Appiah, or anybody else. He can pretty much do it all midfield; create opportunities, win balls, and even has a great long distance shot. You can play Ballack either in an attacking or defensive role. He's too much quality to sit on the bench.

    Ze Roberto? All he would do is sit on the bench for Nedved. He is strictly a left-winger or an attacking midfielder, and since we only run a straight 4-4-2 we could only use him wide out left. Ballack would be the player to revolutionise our midfield, not an elderly Ze Roberto. And again there is no point bringing him in because we already have Nedved.

    Nah I watch Bundesliga very much actually, and even though Ballack sometimes goes missing in matches he is still 100 times better than Blasi, Tacchinardi, or Appiah, and he offers more going forward than Emerson. Ballack is almost a world class player and would add a lot to our midfield.

    And he also steps up for big European matches, something we desperately need in midfield.

    well i'm a fan for the great team that is Germany.I've followed Micheal Ballack since he was just abt 20 something yrs old.He is a great talent i will give you that

    BUT

    the thing is when we bring a big signing like him we would need him to constantly put in the great performances he rarely does.We need a player that if he has an off day wouldn't be as invisible like ballack is for bayern.
    We need him to play every match like he plays for his national team where he always gives a %110.

    Thats why i dont think he is the way to go.

    I'm with sateeh here, Bayern performance of Ballack aren't the best, he's more a nat team player than a club team player. Plus he's used to big money, he's the loved boy at Bayern, and Juve's policy with players and their salaries might not sympathize him.

    ALso real's going to make a bid for him to replace Figo, and we can hardly catch up with Fiorentino's moeny bids.

    Honestly I think that Ballack is not as good as he used to be in Leverkusen.
    IMO while he player for Leverkusen he had the hunger for winning and succeeding, while it appears to me that ever he switched to Bayern, he can play however he wants as long as he gets his pay checks.
    Seriously, I remember in 2001/2002 season, Ballack was a MVP for Leverkusen, he created alot, controlled the midfield, and everything else the coach wanted from him.
    But now you look at him and I honestly think if it was not for Hargreaves in some games, Ballack would have lost control of the midfield.
    But who knows, maybe it is Bayern's fault for ever having led him reach that DIVA status.
    All I know is if Ballck wants to leave Bayern, he can join Madrid, where the other Divas are.
    I much rather want Moggi to buy young players, very talented and proven, let them be here for 4-5 years, and then sell them for a killer sum.

    IMHO Ballack is overrated, but despite this belief of mine he's still quite obviously a quality player and would walk into our first team any day of the week. If we could get him for a good price I'd certainly be tempted as an Emerson-Ballack central midfield partnership has class written all over it. As the likes of Rosicky and Pizarro would be easier to attain the verdict is still out on this one, but if I were Moggi I'd keep an eye on Ballack's situation.

    You're talking purely from having seen a few of his games in the CL, which is not time enough to judge his abilities with regard to the gruelling Serie a fixture list.

    ZeReberto just seems like the player who'd settle in more easily than Ballack would in the Serie A.

    And no Andy, i whole heartedly disagree, that Ballack would revolutionize our midfield. Schweinsteiger would be a better option if at all. There are way too many options on the market to close in on Ballack so quick. We're going to have to wait and watch on this one.

    Again, I have seen more than "just a few" Bayern matches this season cuz I'm able to watch the Bundesliga every Saturday morning. Ballack might not be spectacular all the time but he's a very adept passer, good with the ball at his feet, can tackle very well, and would be a thousand times better than Blasi, Appiah, or Tacchinardi. Not admitting Ballack has exceptional talent is a farce if you ask me.

    Ze Roberto is what, 32 now? He's a left winger, somebody who is not going to replace Nedved, so why even bother?

    Why couldn't Ballack settle nicely in Serie A? He has all the tools; skill, size, strength, and tactical awareness. I'm pretty sure he would excel in Serie A with the right club, perhaps not Inter.

    No two ways about it, Ballack is definitely better than the options we have at the moment, but i guess i just fear that if we really did bring him to Turin it would be at the expense of an Aimar or Riquelme like player, so I wouldnt really be in favour of this move.

    Again, like i said earlier ZeReberto is the ideal bench player, the kind who'll bring us the much needed depth. So in terms of value i think he would have more to offer us, given our current situation.

    He was amazing against Chelsea in both legs.

    Ballack is one of the very best in his position...
    But who is Riquelme ?
    Is he the same player that felt shaky and lost in the wide field of Nocamp ?
    Small fishes swim only in static water...
