Agent: Ballack Could Be In Play 01/06/05

Despite protests from Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the agent for Michael Ballack says the midfield ace could indeed be lured away from Bavaria this summer.

The Germany star’s deal expires at the end of next season, and team officials are optimistic that they can wait and sign an extension later.

"Everything is possible," Michael Becker told AS. "He has a contract until 2006 but it would not be very intelligent on Bayern's part to hope that he fulfils it because next year they would not get any money if he leaves.”

"Ballack knows he is going to sign his last great contract."

He went on to predict that Barcelona and Real Madrid would likely be the favorites to land the 28-year old.

"I do not know of any player who would not like to play for Real Madrid," Becker posited. "It is certain that Barcelona tried to sign him, but Bayern did not want to lose their player then.

"However, the circumstances are now different."

If I remember correctly Capello has always admired the German midfielder, and since we played against him in the CL this year I wouldn't be surprised if Moggi was interested. Not much speculation has surrounded a Ballack departure from Bayern, however if he wants to move on this is the right time for him.

All I have to say is a Ballack-Emerson central midfield partnership would be the best in all of Europe.

Ballack's timeis so over. He was a great player at Leverkusen, but never impressed me at Bayern. He is already quite old and IMo he is an eternal talent!

As for Ballack Lacki you cannot deny that he is one of the best midfielders in the world. He can basically do it all in midfield and would add a bit of creativity that this team needs.

Baggio: Why on earth would you want Ze Roberto over Ballack? Ze Roberto is about as good as washed up for all I care and we have no need for him with Nedved sticking around.

The transfer talk is meant for actual transfer rumours where Juventus is mentioned as a possible destination for a player. It became epidemic a while ago when people would create hundreds of threads about a player they like, or a player who was going to a different club.

Don't get me wrong Andy, it's good to let us in on the transfer status of players, and I'd much prefer these kind of threads in the transfer section than "I think we should get _____" threads (which are a dime a dozen), but it's just something we agreed on earlier.

The Steven Gerrard thread, actually two of them, were made without an article with them. I mean all the signings Moggi usually makes are usually not linked by a transfer rumour, so I don't see what the big deal is. It's transfer speculation afterall.

Who said it was a big deal? I wasn't even going to say anything... in fact I've decided to be a whole lot more "laissez-faire" around here, since some members have requested it, and the general concensus is that people just want to be left alone to do what they want.

As I said though, let's drop it.

Washed up? I think Ballack's game is drier than ZeReberto's. The reason i feel this is because when comparing the two, id say Ballack is probably the better player, but he's not the man to revolutionise our midfield. When taking into account that we're talking about him being on the bench, then id much rather have ZeReberto because his style of play fits ours. Less flair, more run and better ball winning skills, not to mention.

Agree. He has a lot of qualitie. Can Attack and defend, but is not the youngest solution, by far not the cheapest and he is kind of a diva. If he has to sit on the bench, he will make a drama and I really don't like that. Maybe its because I am Austrian, but I don't like any German footballers. They were great once, but today I can't see any German footballer with a chance to become one of the best!

ballack is quality and i think he still has a lot to offer in the right environment. Serie A would suit him fine and he is a proven player. sure pizarro is the better option but ballack wouldnt go a stray either.

Ballack is better in Bayern than in Leverkusen!! I would be really happy if we signed him. Nedved-Ballack-Emerson-Camoranesi would be one great midfield.
