Zanetti to cut Samuel price? Saturday 13 August, 2005

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The transfer superhighway between Inter and Real Madrid is still open with reports that Cristiano Zanetti will move as part of the Walter Samuel switch.

Over the last year the Nerazzurri have already signed Esteban Cambiasso, Luis Figo, Santiago Solari and Samuel from the Liga giants, while Ronaldo moved in the opposite direction in 2002.

The rapport between the clubs is strong and there could be another exchange in the offing, as Coach Wanderley Luxemburgo has set his sights on defensive midfielder Cristiano Zanetti.

The Italian international has been pushed on to the sidelines by the new arrivals this summer and was rumoured to be on his way to Juventus, where he would reunite with his former Roma boss Fabio Capello.

However, Inter are likely to favour a switch to Spain to help shave some money off Samuel’s recent £10.4m transfer.

It would be an important move for the 28-year-old midfielder, who has managed just 85 Serie A appearances in four seasons at the San Siro.

Miccoli could join Villa Thursday 18 August, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Premiership side Aston Villa are surprisingly in the chase for Juventus’ transfer-listed striker Fabrizio Miccoli.

The forward is surplus to requirements at the Stadio Delle Alpi and the Italian club claim a move to England, or Portugal, could occur.

"We need to sell a striker and that would be Miccoli," said Bianconeri director general Luciano Moggi.

"In a couple of days time, we will know whether he will go to Aston Villa or Benfica."

The Italian international spent last term at Fiorentina in a co-ownership deal, but saw his hopes of remaining in Florence dashed when the outfit lost out to Juve in a blind auction for his services.

It was initially thought that the Lecce-born starlet would continue his career in Italy but numerous moves have fallen through.

He was associated with the likes of Inter, Roma, Palermo and Genoa but still finds himself just south of the Alps.

Miccoli is not needed by boss Fabio Capello who can already count on the services of Alex Del Piero, Adrian Mutu, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David Trezeguet and Marcelo Zalayeta.

Like I said before,Capello was saying bad things for us ,while he was in Roma, but now everything is just fine.
Miccoli did it because he has a quality(no doubt about it) and we treated him as we do.
I like him as a player, that's not my fault. He will show his potential and value whenever he goes.

they can have Cassano for dinner, supper or whatever.... I don't want this trouble maker here.... Juve's chemistry is just fine now....don't want tension between Cassano, DP and especially Mutu..... Adrian will be Juve's biggest surprise this year.
