Juve in no rush to dump Miccoli Monday 22 August, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus are ready to keep Fabrizio Miccoli until January in order to net as big a transfer fee as possible for the player.

The attacking sensation has been available for sale as a result of the club’s numerous attacking options.

A summer move was expected but the champions have so far failed to find a buyer willing to match their asking price.

But Juventus transfer guru Luciano Moggi is in no hurry to get rid of the Italian international forward.

"I won’t exclude the possibility that Miccoli will not only stay with us until January but also play in that time too," said the director general.

"We are in no rush when it comes to Miccoli. When clubs realise they need a scorer, they will contact us and we will sell at the best price."

Miccoli is not needed by boss Fabio Capello who can already count on the services of Alex Del Piero, Adrian Mutu, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David Trezeguet and Marcelo Zalayeta.

The former Perugia and Fiorentina player has been linked with numerous clubs over the last few months.

Roma, Inter and Palermo were hotly associated in Italy, while Aston Villa and Portuguese giants Benfica are allegedly keen on him.

If that's the case then I think they should play him in Spain on Wednesday to preserve one of the strikers for the more importanr match against Chievo.

Meantime, several reports coming in about intensified interest from Prandelli on signing Manuele Blasi

Yea, but I think he'll be on his way out on the 31st of August, just the way he was last year, only this time for good to Roma. It's a tactic Moggi uses quite frequently to hype the player and get the price if he's being sold, or wait till the last minute to put in a final bid if we're buying. Cassano deal wont be any different from the previous years when we bought Zlatan and DiVaio on the last day of the mercato.

if i was roma, id take micco and cash without a thought in exchange for cassano.

Micco works tremendously hard, and has equal skill to cassano imho.

Along with micco's technical shooting skills, and power....in all honesty id prefer micco.

If the little guy wasnt such a plonker:dontcare:

Miccoli is not going to have a very good shelf life. I can only imagine him going postal after sitting on the bench for so long at Juve to where only the desperate would touch him... and only for a deep discount.

Well no Italian player would want to play in the Russian league. What does he want anyway?
