There's no doubt other countries do produce good defenders, no one can deny It. But the "Italian school" is much diff and more class. Doesn't really need two to argue about...Platini, Maradona, Zidane, Ronaldo, Batistuta did state that Italian defenders are simply the best.

I think in recent years English defenders have been catching up. Terry is without a doubt the best CB in the world today. and they do have other who are rising such as King, Anthon Ferdinand..etc.

yes I am. He might not be having a very good season, but remember nobody at West Ham is playing well. Plus having to play next to defenders such as Daily and Konchesky wh make Boumsong look good doesn't help. And Ferdinand is only what 19? you can't expect him to not make mistakes at this age.
