Two more:

Real Zaragoza have struck a deal with Wolfsburg for Andres D'Alessandro.

The Spanish outfit have agreed a season-long loan deal with an option for a permanent deal at the end of that.

The 25-year-old has snubbed a return to Portsmouth, where he spent the latter part of last season on loan, in order to complete a move to Spain.

D'Alessandro revealed it was always one of his dreams to play in La Liga after completing his Zaragoza switch.

"When you start your football career you have various dreams and one of mine was to play in the Spanish league, which is the best," explained the new signing.

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp harboured hopes of luring D'Alessandro back to the South Coast - but the player has decided his future is best served in La Liga.

"We are happy to have reached an agreement with such a well-known club as Zaragoza," said Wolfsburg business manager Klaus Fuchs.

Atletico Madrid have completed the capture of Greece international Giorgios Seitaridis from Russian outfit Dinamo Moscow.

After signing Mariano Pernia, Ze Castro, Sergio Aguera and Costinha already in a busy summer, Atletico have now added the right back to their ranks.

Seitaridis inked a four-year deal on Friday after passing a medical at El Calderon and stated he spoke to a number of people before making the move to La Liga.

The former Panathinaikos and Porto defender consulted his compatriot and former Atletico striker, Demis Nikolaidis.

"I spoke to him about Atletico and he told me great things about the club and about Spanish football," he said.

"Also, Costinha and I are good friends and we speak quite often and when he signed for Atletico he advised me to do the same."

Costinha was with Seitaridis at Porto and then in Moscow as the duo endured a torrid time in the Russian league as they failed to play regularly in the Dinamo side.

Lippi lined up for Real job Sunday 18 June, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spanish newspapers claim Real Madrid will sign Marcello Lippi if Italy flop at the World Cup, while Antonio Cassano is again linked with Milan.

'As’ suggests this weekend that the club is determined to bring in an Italian tactician during the summer. Presidential candidate Ramon Calderon has publicly pledged to sign Juventus boss Fabio Capello if he wins the elections, but another option is represented by Lippi.

The Coach is under pressure already after the Azzurri’s disappointing 1-1 draw with the US and, matched with the Press focus on his part in the Calciopoli scandal, could decide to walk out on the job after just two years in charge.

It’s reported that failure to reach the second round on Thursday would see Lippi sacked and the gates to the Bernabeu open for an announcement as early as next week.

Real Madrid are also in the news after 'Marca’ claimed that Antonio Cassano is set for a return to Serie A just six months after his switch from Roma.

The fiery former Bari man has failed to show his quality in La Liga, managing only a handful of appearances in which he was mocked by the local media for his weight.

It’s not the first time he has been linked with Milan over the past few months, but now that the club has £30m from Andriy Shevchenko’s sale to Chelsea, the swoop is more likely.

Blasi confirms Fiorentina talks Monday 19 June, 2006

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus benchwarmer Manuele Blasi’s agent has confirmed he is in advanced negotiations for a transfer to Fiorentina.

“It is true, he could move from Juventus to Fiorentina,” Franco Zavaglia told 'Radio Radio’ this evening.

“The two clubs are discussing the matter between themselves and this exchange is very much a possibility.”

The former Perugia midfielder struggled at the Stadio Delle Alpi this season, managing just 13 Serie A appearances, five in the Champions League and three Coppa Italia games – many of them in an unusual full-back role.

His disciplinary record caused concern in recent years and it seems Coach Fabio Capello lost faith in the player, especially as Juve have already drafted in Cristiano Zanetti from Inter as a replacement.

Blasi began his career at Lecce in 1998-99 and has also worn the jerseys of Roma, Perugia and Parma. The midfielder, who will turn 26 in August, is also an Italian international with eight caps to his credit.

Fiorentina are set to completely revolutionise their midfield for next season, as they have not taken up their option to make Stefano Fiore’s loan switch from Valencia a permanent one and brought in Fabio Liverani from Lazio on a free transfer.

Juventus and the Viola are sworn enemies, but have completed several transfer deals in the last couple of years, including Fabrizio Miccoli, Enzo Maresca and Giorgio Chiellini.

    Corradi requests Toro move
    Tuesday 20 June, 2006
Bernardo Corradi has invited Torino to make a bid, while his replacement at Parma will be Vitalii Kutuzov.

“Although President Urbano Cairo doesn’t need advice, I’ll just tell him this: Corradi is the right man for the Torino attack. He really would be a bargain,” said agent Moreno Roggi.

The Granata have been promoted back to Serie A after three years and look ready to build a competitive squad to fit their glorious history.

Alessandro Rosina and Elvis Abbruscato, who proved decisive in their Serie B campaign, are now owned by the club. Under-21 international Rosina completed his switch from Parma, while Arezzo have sold the remaining 50 per cent of hitman Abbruscato’s contract, but Roberto Stellone (Genoa) and Nikola Lazetic (Livorno) are still up in the air.

As for Corradi, he is on loan from Valencia and it does not seem as if he will stay at the Stadio Tardini next season.

To support that theory, Parma have today signed Belarus international Kutuzov from Sampdoria. He was owned by Milan, but the Rossoneri sold their share in the forward to Samp.

    Viola release Jimenez
    Tuesday 20 June, 2006
Fiorentina have decided not to take up their option on Luis Jimenez, while Ciccio Cozza returns to Siena and we round up the latest co-ownership deals.

Despite scoring three goals in 19 Serie A games since his January move from Ternana, the Viola officially confirmed today that they are not renewing their deal for Jimenez. The Chilean midfielder will return to the Stadio Liberati, although he’s not expected to stay following their relegation into Serie C1.

Ternana have also sold Liechtenstein striker Mario Frick to Siena. The Tuscan Bianconeri brought Cozza back to the Stadio Franchi after his loan spell at Reggina, buying out the remaining 50 per cent of his contract from Genoa.

Matteo Paro goes back to Juventus, but Daniele Gastaldello and Christian Molinaro – both also co-owned by the Turin giants – remain at Siena for another season.

Fiorentina may have released Jimenez and Bari-owned Davide Carrus, but they have announced an agreement to buy up Under-21 international Riccardo Montolivo’s entire contract from Atalanta.

Chievo are not making many changes, as Milan have left Azzurrini starlet Paolo Sammarco with the Flying Donkeys for another season on loan. Matteo Brighi and Giuseppe Scurto are also staying after the renewal of their loan agreements from Roma.

    Valencia make Martins move

    Wednesday 21 June, 2006
Valencia have approached Inter with the intention of signing Nigerian starlet Obafemi Martins, according to reports.

The Spanish outfit have sent sporting director Amedeo Carboni, a former Italian international, to make enquiries and a switch is possible.

The Nerazzurri are understood to be willing to sacrifice the forward, but only if the Liga club meet their substantial demands.

Whispers circulating suggest that the San Siro outfit want not only almost £11m in cash, but also the services of Stefano Fiore.

The latter is desired by Inter and available for transfer after Fiorentina didn’t opt to make his loan move permanent.

Martins’ future at the club has been in doubt for the last six months and he has been linked with a Premiership switch.

Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are all thought to be monitoring the African gem.

Meanwhile, Marco Materazzi could remain at Inter despite the belief that he would be leaving the club.

Villarreal have made a bid but talks with Materazzi’s agent are going well and the defender, on World Cup duty, may renew his Inter contract.

    Gourcuff pens Milan deal
    Thursday 22 June, 2006
Italian giants Milan have confirmed the expected capture of Rennes starlet Yohann Gourcuff.

The Rossoneri have released a statement noting that the Frenchman has penned a contract until June 30, 2011.

Gourcuff, a highly-rated midfielder, was born in Lorient on July 11, 1986, and had played 36 games for the Ligue 1 outfit.

No financial details of the transfer have been revealed, but it is thought that Milan paid around £2.5m for the player who only had a year left on his previous contract.

Milan had been chasing Gourcuff for the last few months and Rennes President Emmanuel Cueff did recently confirm an approach.

“We have received an official offer from Milan which we are evaluating, but we would like to keep him here on loan for a season,” he stated.

Although Gourcuff is now likely to be loaned out to gain experience, it seems unlikely that he will return to Rennes for the 2006-07 campaign.

And I read in several sources that Mascherano is followed by Inter.

Manchester City have completed the signing of Ousmane Dabo from Lazio on a three-year contract. The former French international, 29, was a free agent after turning down an offer to stay with the Serie A club. City boss Stuart Pearce told his club's official website: "I feel he will be a major asset to the squad. Ousmane is a vastly experienced holding midfield player, and gives us more options. I am delighted he is joining us." Dabo, who made 28 starts for Lazio last season, passed a medical at City's training ground on Tuesday.

Manuele Blasi will play for Fiorentina next season after he joined the Viola from Italian champions Juventus. The midfielder has been heavily linked with the Stadio Artemio Franchi outfit and they’ve confirmed his capture on Wednesday. Fiorentina have netted the 1980-born player on loan for a season with an option to buy him outright in the summer of 2007. Blasi has spent the last two seasons at Juventus, but struggled to get regular playing time under boss Fabio Capello last term.

Sochaux midfielder Jeremy Menez will join Monaco on a four-year deal, the Ligue 1 club said on Wednesday. "FC Sochaux and Monaco have reached an agreement on a four-year contract," Sochaux said on their web site. "He will have a medical examination on Thursday before signing for Monaco," they added. The 19-year-old Menez, one of Ligue 1's most exciting prospects, started his professional career at Sochaux in the 2004/2005 season.

French teenage midfielder Yohann Gourcuff will join AC Milan from Stade Rennes, the Ligue 1 club said on Wednesday. Rennes said in statement they had reached an agreement with the Italian club over the 19-year-old and it would be a proper transfer, not a loan. They did not give any details about the length of the contract or the transfer fee. A French under-21 international, the gifted Gourcuff was being chased by several European clubs.

AC Chievo Verona have signed goalkeeper Vincenzo Sicignano from relegated US Lecce for an undisclosed fee while extending the loans of three players.

The 31-year-old custodian, who played 24 games for Lecce last term, has agreed a three-year contract with the Italian UEFA Cup contenders. Sicignano also counts US Città di Palermo and Parma FC among his former sides, having made 182 league appearances during ten seasons with the Sicilian team. After a brief stay at Parma, he then featured 78 times for Lecce.

In addition, Chievo have reached agreement with AS Roma to extend the loans of midfielder Matteo Brighi, 25, and defender Giuseppe Scurto, 22, while AC Milan midfielder Paolo Sammarco, 23, will also remain at the club for another 12 months. Brighi and Sammarco have spent the last two campaigns at Chievo, with Scurto playing in Verona in 2005/06.

Belarussian international striker Vitali Kutuzov has joined Parma FC from Serie A rivals UC Sampdoria on a three-year contract. Parma have bought the 26-year-old's registration which was jointly held by Sampdoria and AC Milan. Kutuzov started his career in Belarus with FC BATE Borisov and has also played on loan at Sporting Clube de Portugal and US Avellino 1912.

French Under-21 international goalkeeper Jérémy Gavanon has joined FC Sochaux-Montbéliard on a three-year contract as cover for No1 Teddy Richert. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at second-division Clermont-Foot Auvergne from Olympique de Marseille. "It's not a problem to be second choice behind Teddy Richert," said Gavanon. "I'm young and need to learn."

VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach have signed Danish defensive midfielder Sebastian Svárd from Portuguese club Vitória SC. The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at the Borussia-Park.

GKS Górnik Leczna have signed Amica Sport's experienced winger Zbigniew Grzybowski on a two-year contract. The 30-year-old has scored 38 goals in 219 Polish Ekstraklasa games.

    Chelsea plan Nesta swoop
    Saturday 24 June, 2006
Not content with taking Andriy Shevchenko from Milan, today’s newspapers in Italy report Chelsea also want to capture Alessandro Nesta.

The £30m Shevchenko switch was facilitated by the Rossoneri because the striker requested a move after seven years at San Siro.

Following the success of that transfer, the 'Corriere dello Sport’ claims that Roman Abramovich has now turned his attention to Milan defender Nesta.

It’s reported the Stamford Bridge side has offered £12.5m for the centre-back, who is currently starring for Italy in the 2006 World Cup, plus a four-year contract worth £4.4m per season.

William Gallas, who has made his intention to join the Serie A giants clear for some time, could be included as part of the offer.

The 30-year-old joined Milan in a £20m deal in the summer of 2002 and has won the Scudetto, Champions League, Coppa Italia, Italian Super Cup and European Super Cup with the club.

Although the 'Corriere’ suggests Chelsea are lining up this bid, Rossoneri vice-President Adriano Galliani has repeatedly stated that no further star names will leave San Siro this season.

Nesta has other more pressing concerns, as he pulled up during the 2-0 win over the Czech Republic with a recurring groin strain.

More tests will be conducted this weekend and it’s feared he could be out of the World Cup if the muscular damage is confirmed.

    Fiorentina grab Reginaldo
    Saturday 24 June, 2006
Fiorentina have completed a double deal to sign Cagliari midfielder Massimo Gobbi and Treviso starlet Ferreira da Silva Reginaldo.

Both were taken from Treviso, as this week the club – relegated to Serie B – won the remaining 50 per cent of Gobbi’s contract from Cagliari in a blind auction. This is where the sides can’t reach an agreement, so they put figures in a sealed envelope and the highest bid wins.

Gobbi impressed during his two seasons at the Stadio Sant’Elia and the 26-year-old is particularly strong in the air. He began his career at Pro Sesto in 1998-99 and has also played for Giugliano and Albinoleffe.

The other signing for Fiorentina is Reginaldo, the 21-year-old Brazilian support striker who scored five goals in 31 appearances for Treviso last term.

He first joined the Stadio Tenni outfit as a teenager in 2000-01 and is a free kick specialist known more for providing assists than hitting the back of the net. He proved decisive in their promotion in 2004-05 with 11 Serie B goals.

Fiorentina did not confirm the details of the moves, but confirmed that Gianni Guigou has been sold to Treviso as part of the deal. The Uruguayan already spent the last six months at Treviso on loan.

In other transfer news, Chievo are chasing Anderlecht central defender Hannu Tihinen. The 30-year-old is out of contract in the summer and it’s reported the former West Ham man has been offered a one-year contract with the option to extend for another season.

    Mido of the Rovers
Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes has returned to the negotiating table for Roma striker Mido after Craig Bellamy's move to Liverpool was completed yesterday. Mido appeared to talk his way out of a switch to Ewood Park last week, but the Egyptian remains high on Hughes' agenda, particularly after losing their key striker. The Giallorossi are keen to offload the former Marseille hitman – who spent last term on loan at Tottenham Hotspur – from their wage bill and could accept as little as £3m.

    Lehmann demands Klose
Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has told Arsene Wenger to sign Miroslav Klose. The Werder Bremen striker has been in top form for Germany in the World Cup, netting four goals in the group stage. “Miroslav could play a fantastic role for us at Arsenal,” said the former Milan shot-stopper. “He is excellent in the air and a great finisher, as he has proved again at this World Cup. We use our wingers a lot more than other teams so it would be fantastic to have a classic centre-forward in the middle to get on the end of crosses, even though I am loathe to comment on rumours.”

    Kuyt eyes Premiership
Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt has revealed that he would like to move to the Premiership. The Dutch hitman, who has netted at will in the Eredivisie over the past few years, has been regularly linked with Tottenham, Newcastle and Milan. “I want very much to play in the Premiership,” he stated. “I want to join one of the teams at the top and I hope we can play England in the quarter-finals of the World Cup – it will give me a chance to show what I can do.”

Deportivo La Coruna have signed Riki from Getafe for €4 million (£2.75 million) after lengthy negotations between the two clubs were concluded on Thursday morning.

The striker has penned a five-year deal with the Galician club after undergoing a medical and becomes Depor's fourth signing of the summer.

Riki joined Getafe from Real Madrid in the summer of 2004 for €300,000 (£200,000) and included in his contract was a clause stating that both clubs would split any future fee should he be sold before June 2007.

That stipulation was proving to be a stumbling block in talks with Depor over a move, but Riazor president Augusto Lendoiro flew to Madrid to finalise the deal.

Depor have been tracking Riki for several months and were reported to have made an enquiry last year, only to be told that they would have to match his buy-out clause of €6 million (£4.1 million).

The Galician club have already captured Albert Lopo from Espanyol, Pablo Alvarez from Sporting and Juan Rodriguez from Malaga since the transfer market opened last month.

Marseille chairman Pape Diouf has hit out at his Lyon counterpart Jean Michel Aulas for unsettling Franck Ribery.

Ribery is hoping to win a move to Lyon after becoming unsettled at Stade Velodrome.

Aulas claims Ribery has agreed to move to Lyon and that they are waiting for the green light from Marseille to seal the transfer.

Diouf is unhappy with the behaviour of Aulas and has accused the Lyon chief of tapping the player up while visiting the French national team in Germany.

"We have to ask ourselves the question of the exploitation of the boy (Ribery), when you know a club's official can live close to him in the French team sanctuary," said Diouf.

"The rules absolutely forbid chairmen to talk with players under contract."
