He is not identical to either Vidal or Marchisio. But he is that type of player, and would fit better in a midfield replacing them, than Pirlo for instance. He certainly is closer to Marchisio than he is to Pirlo I think.

marchisio reads the game well, excels in 1-2s just like what everyone else is saying. the only thing different is marrone has a stronger build, hence he is gritty like vidal and can hold his own physically in a similar fashion.

marchisio is not a playmaker , marrone can be one , not pure fantasy like pirlo but can set the time of the team and add more physicality and help more than pirlo in defense

We've seen Marrone play in our outfit like 120 minutes, maybe give it at least another 120 mins before we start listing his flaws and pros and who he is more similar to. I will wait to pass my judgement, but he is looking like an interesting prospect that we ought to keep around (at least as a rotational player, I'm keeping next season in mind too).
