And eye test is entirely subjective. The fact you spent the season saying Arthur is actually pretty good tells us this.
It is subjective, just like the stats selection tells a subjective part of the story. That's football and that's the beauty of what and why we're discussing here ;)

Let's just say Barca's trash shouldn't be our saving grace. We can do better...

Ah yeah, what about your 0.50 vs 0.51 goals per game 'Vlahovic did statistically better here'

Or what was is 0.58 vs 0.59 or something
That was trolling RUS, bro. And was an actual statistic. Also a point that his goalscoring rate outside taking penalties remained identical.

It would be good to combine the two. Ignoring stats for the eye test is dumb. As is the opposite.

For me the eye test says Zaniolo has a very high ceiling and if he gets past the knee issues and continues to progress he should get there. The stats say Depay offers a lot more currently. Both signings would be good imo. We may not have the money for Zaniolo and Depay being free is a rather important consideration here.

You still haven't answered my question. What stats did I not include that wouldve supported your argument that Zaniolo is actually the better player?

The argument isnt who has the higher upside. Of course its Zaniolo. But Memphis is clearly the better player right now.

Thanks but I'd rather stay away from silly stats that cloud judgements.

Now is not last season. Even at the top of his game, he's a lost cause for his own team and can probably leave for free while Roma want to keep Zaniolo despite a 50 million offer from Tottenham...

So Barca's main priority is getting the current players to agree for a salary reduction and thus fall under the la liga salary cap requirement. I guess Depay discussion won't happen till then.

As I’ve said, I’d prefer Zaniolo, but suggesting he is currently on an entirely different level (better) than Depay is silly. The upside of his potential and his age makes him a much better purchase if we can afford to make Roma an offer they will accept. But Depay is no scrub and isn’t some geezer. Getting him on a free would be just fine imo.

The guy also said current Dybala is significantly better as well, which is even sillier.

Every club employs some sort of analytics department, so it kind of is.
Just because an analysis is involved, doesn't mean the subject is science all of a sudden, pal.

He most certainly isn't. I don't like the guy but he'd help our cause for sure.

We can argue about the definition of science all day, data exists to take emotion out of the equation, so we dont have to rely on subjective things like "the eye test."

And the data in the case of Zaniolo and Memphis leans heavily one way.

Apparently some nice mess at Barca, they still can't register the newly hired players, like 7 of them?

On VS people discussing a slowdown in on Juve-Depay front, hence why Juve would be back on Simeone...

Seems like it will be Depay who will be Barfa's staring CF on Saturday, not Lewandowski

And data not being reliable is exactly why City or PSG are being dicked in the CL time and time again. It's only a very small portion of it; hence why some top level scouts make millions and data analysts don't.

I work in video coordination (essentially a combination of scouting and analytics) in another sport, and there literally isnt one scout in my field that gets paid millions, and its actually the ones in the analytic departments that are more desired for executive positions. I dont know how it works in football, but I'd be surprised if it were much different. Pretty much all professional sports teams lean more on analytics now than ever before. The more data, the better. Dont know why you seem so against that concept. The eye test for the most part just tells us what we want it to. It's also hard to be a completely impartial observer imo, especially when you dont have full access to gameplans, medical reports, etc.

Maybe we can sign Lewandowski on a free.

stats does not matter, why don’t you get it?

14 UCL RM vs 2 UCL Juve means nothing

In fact we shouldn’t even keep score, not points either, only emojis and social network metrics from now on
