Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri has played down talk of Saturday night’s match with Juventus being decisive as far as his side’s title ambitions are concerned.
Addressing the media before departing Naples, Mazzarri said: “It’s an important game, but not decisive. The worst that can happen is being cast adrift of Juventus by three points. In a championship with so much still to play for it wouldn’t mean anything. Let’s not forget that they will need to come to the San Paolo where we should be marginal favourites.”
The 51-year-old, whose side are unbeaten from their opening seven Serie A fixtures, is confident his charges will be ready for tomorrow’s encounter following the recent international break.
“Cavani and Vargas are in good condition, despite the fact they’ve travelled around the world in the space of ten days. We’ll assess the entire situation tomorrow and I’ll pick the most appropriate starting line-up.”
