Cuadrado was in the squad last season

If Cuadrado is so much better than Cancelo as a right back, then maybe Allegri should have played him there?
Are you mentally challenged? Cuadrado was injured for the entire meat of the season last year. Coincidentally, the part of the season we were poor in after our fast start.

He was out from beginning of December until mid-April.

And since injuries are no longer the coach's fault according to you, imagine how good we could have been if we had a healthy Cuadrado and Dougie C last year. Or Chiellini healthy for the Ajax matches. :lol3:

Cuadrado played 4 out of 23 games as a right back last season. If everyone was fit, Cancelo was first choice in that position.

Then we sold Cancelo and replaced him with a Brazilian MDS aka Danilo.

Sarri is the one who turned Cuadrado into a permanent RB.

Now tell me, how exactly did we "replace" Cancelo with Cuadrado?

Cancelo goes from Juve to City
Danilo goes from City to Juve

But somehow Cuadrado, who has been our player since 2015, is the one who replaced someone in this exchange.

If Cuadrado is really a better right back than Cancelo, then why on earth was Cancelo first choice in that position last season?

The shear amount of mental gymnastics of some people on here is truly staggering.

Tell me where I said we did? :shifty:

And if Sarri transitioned Cuadrado into a rightback, than we did upgrade our RB position, a positive thing done by Maurizio.

Our summer mercato improved the team. Injuries happen to every team. That's why we have so much depth. our 25 man squad when healthy this year > 25 man squad when healthy last year. Obviously.

Yeah I recall he was injured as well for most part. Fit Cuadrado has always made a difference.

Speaking of mental gymnastics, your current happiness with scraping 1 goal wins from shit performances is such a remarkable transformation for you.

But please tell us when we start playing the attractive, dominant football you guaranteed we would play under Sarri.

After 11 rounds, 7th place in Serie A in goals scored. We've scored less than even Sassuolo. 1 single win of +1 goal.

He wasn't even in our CL knockout squad because it was feared he was out for the whole season after his knee surgery in December. So how these clowns think he was there for the important part of the season is beyond me. Missing both Cuadrado and Douglas Costa for the majority of winter and spring was a huge blow to our ability to play with width last year. And with players who can beat their man 1v1.

Cancelo was sold having in mind we can ease Cuadrado in this role so yeah, Cuad is his replacement. Id say Cuadrado has been better RB.. more solid at the back, no brainfarts and offers similar attacking threat up front... I have always said Cancelo was crap though and wanted him out while you and few others were having a fit over his sale...

Funny you should say that now because...
Ive seen him playing at Juve and hes not the same player anymore. Speed was his biggest asset and with age, usually at 27-28 this physical atribute starts to deteriorate. He never had too many facets in his game so hes becoming more and more predictable. Useful player to come off the bench or to rest Cancello but not as good as several seasons ago.

Is that why you wanted DC & Cuadra sold past summer?

He is as good as several years ago? He was slotted at the RB because he is less of an attacking threat than in his younger days but has been relatively solid in defense. I dont get what is wrong there....

This thread is just as moronic as it was since page 1 :sergio:
Obviously, I disliked Sarri as our choice for a new coach, but I actually think he has done a very good job thus far. He's absolutely getting the results necessary, and our defence, while having its shaky moments, is looking better and better. Our attack has been beyond anemic thus far, but if he can sort that out and get us scoring at a decent clip, we'll be a force to be reckoned with come CL knockout rounds. Considering attacking play is supposed to be his strength, and this is the best set of attacking players he's ever had to work with, by far, some optimism that he will improve that is definitely fair.

His rotation, subs, and pragmatism have been positive surprises so far.

I dont get why is it so hard for Sarri boyzto admit we play worse this season than in any of the previous ones... We all hope this will change soon but atm we struggle against opponents several levels bellow us and are on a way to score less than 60 goals this season which is shocking when you have fucking Ronaldo and Higuain upfront
