Sarri was intent on taking Brozovic out of the game. That's why it was Berna and then Bentancur at CAM. Without Brozovic, there's no connection from the CBs to the strikers in that formation.

They are incapable of playing straight to Lukaku. CBs aren't great with ball and Lukaku has no touch. So go ahead Antonio and play to the wingbacks all match and go nowhere. Or you could change tactics but Sarri knows he won't :howler:

Our defense doesn't look as strong as it was under Allegri, but I'm not nearly as nervous after taking the lead now. It's nice to see us not falling further and further back after going ahead.
Agreed

We relied way too much on our defence to sustain attack after attack and even the best defence in the world got absolutely battered when it counted by Ronaldo Madrid, Bayern and Barca. It's too much.

Really liking his approach in these bigger games thus far. Not concentrating on meaningless possession and has us playing faster and more direct type of football. I think he has really learned a thing or two from his stint at Chelsea or at least so it seems currently. Has been much more flexible and not only does he have a plan B he also has a plan C, D... and so on.

Got to admit when he brought on Can for Dybala I was doubting him but it worked out well and was glad to have that extra stability when we went 2-1 up.
yeah, somehow his subs makes me say 'wtf' in my mind, but in the end I have to admit they all worked out. I like that all of our forwards are in good forms and happy.

I expect Demiral, Rugani and Rabiot to feature more as well after international break and everyone will be happy
