This year's center backs - Rugani, Chiellini, Barzagli, Benatia, Howedes.

Next year's Rugani, Chiellini, Caldara, Benatia, Howedes.

Barzagli may either retire or have a swangsong in another league after the world cup - maybe USA or China would be my guess.

Caldara keeps sitting on the bench for Atalanta. Why they wanted him to stay? The same for Orso - we should break our ties with them and not loan players anymore.

I've been wondering the same thing. Even in the Serie A his appearances have been limited so far.

Cut the ties. Now. Start by bullying over deals and then won't even use the players, just to mess with us.
Break ties and watch them rot.

Yeah, can't expect them to walk over us like this. We give them our most promising players for free (temporarily, but look what a difference it made to their club) and this is what we get in return. There'll always be other ambitious Serie A who are more cooperative in their dealings.

So you expect them to bend over because we wanted a player sooner that we agreed?

And they are doing just fine without "our" players.

Yes.
It is standard procedure for loanees (dry loans, not the obligation/option to buy ones) to return before the end of the loan term in case the parent club requests to do so.

They are where they are partly because of them.

If they are doing just fine. Then let go.

I can't see why one would continue a non-reciprocal relationship.

For Caldara its still early season, maybe he was injured or behind in fitness? Cant cry wolf if he lost his spot temporarily. Oughta be something like that up since he started virtually every game for them last season.

For Orsolini its up to the kid to convince Gasperini, no one else, clearly its a coach that likes young players so no excuses.

Gasp just tried something different for this game, bringing in Palomino. Kurtic also hit the bench. It is the EL, it's not the #1 priority for Serie A teams, even if Atalanta are treating it with the kind of respect you'd expect from a team who slugged hard to get into it. Having a lot of young players helps in that regard.

As for Orsolini, he's just a kid but at the moment the formation doesn't suit him. They are often playing Kurtic off Gomez and Petagna, two players who are certainties on the team sheet, so he'll have to bide his team.

They've played three league games anyway, what a fart in the wind discussion.
