Ok conversation over  You’re actually serious

Current day Bonucci as well. I can’t believe this is a hill you’re willing to die on :dielaugh:
No need to die on this hill - Bonucci is the superior player at the moment and has been world class for years and years.

That's not to take anything away from De Ligt, but he's not there yet. He's benefitting alot from Bonuccis presence too.

Bonucci has been great this year. I think we can all agree on that

But he wasn't THIS at 20 years old. Not even close. The fact that DeLigt being in the conversation for best CB in the league and arguably Top 5 in the world at his age is a grand testament to him

It also needs to be said that Bonucci benefits from having De Ligt next to him. Thats the way cb partnerships work. Bonucci looks better when next to someone that can cover a bit more ground. De Ligt has an experienced top cb next to him that can do most of the organizing so they have both benefited from that. Having said that I think De Ligt has come along incredibly and most here did not think he would turn out this good so quick. The season could be completely different if we didnt make the cb signings that everyone said we didnt need.
Hindsite will be massively in the favor of this board IMO for doing some miracle works and bringing in the new Juventus to be top of the world

Not top 5 either.

And no Bonucci wasn't anywhere near De Ligts quality at age 20, not anywhere close. But that wasn't the point of discussion between me and Fosters over there.

Top 10, then? He's definitely in that conversation. In Serie A alone, with the exception of Koulibaly, there is no other CB that I would rather have right now. Skriniar included.

And I wouldn't even take Koulibaly right now based on the massive age difference alone.

DeLigt is a generational talent at his position. Bottom line. Everybody could see that at Ajax. It took him a while to get acclimated, and even then, he wasn't bad, just unlucky with those handballs.

He's having Chiellini performances. Now because he''s 20 years old, you'll hear he's not ready or world class yet

Just wait for the circus when we'll try to extend De Ligt's contract and Raiola will ask for 12m wages and 20m bonus for himself.
Market inflated due to psg and barca spending bollocks. Joao felix went for 120m after one good season. so 12m wage is reasonable.

He's having terrific performances, but his world class performances for Juventus have come very recently and consist of what, 6-7 games in a row? That's why I disagree with labelling him superior to Bonucci who has been an integral part of a winning machine for 9 years. Come on sheeple, it's not rocket science.

I understand what you mean. But we are not comparing career or achievements, because in that case Bonucci would be far ahead. Either way, I wasn't comparing him to Bonucci in the post you quoted. He also has been having world class performances since November actually. I remember his games against Atalanta and Atletico where he was having unreal performances.

When the team loses these ratings tend to be deflated significantly. Unless i remember wrong, he wasn't bad in the second game against Napoli for instance

His worst game is vs Napoli where we won. Imagine if the stats got more deflated

Well yeah, often it can be quite simplistic. Concede goals, penalty = bad, clean sheet, score goal = good. But I suppose it's the same for any player.
Also, a lot of times you will see mediocre defenders getting good ratings based on the number of tackles they've made, not really taking into account that alot of them might only be the result of bad positioning.
