I think a comment there summed it up perfectly: "Any pro can look good on youtube, but when a 19 year old has 12 minutes of jaw dropping talent against some of the top opposition in the world including his new employers, you know we have a special talent in our hands."

We pay the 75m in 5 installments. 15m each year. :lol3:

This is fantastic news, we have saved a lots of cash for more purchases. I expect us to buy one more star this summer.

Well done Paratici.
If only we are not paying installments this year for likes of Cancelo, Ronaldo, and other players. Juve always pays later.

Real reason Man Utd decided against Matthijs de Ligt transfer after Juventus announcement
MANCHESTER UNTIED decided against signing Matthijs de Ligt this summer and the real reason why has been revealed after Juventus put an end to the transfer saga.

It looked like the De Ligt speculation would roll on all summer but in the end it was a pretty easy decision for the Dutchman. Juventus put the best offer on the table and the chance to play in Italy, the country with an emphasis on defence, was too much to turn down. He will be able to learn from the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci while also playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

But things could have been very different considering Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain were all interested in the 19-year-old. PSG offered De Ligt better wages than what was on the table at Barcelona and the Catalans simply could match it given that they were already expecting the arrivals of Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann. Sporting director Leonardo later confirmed De Ligt wouldn’t be coming to Paris because they “don’t have an envelope with €200million to spend.” Manchester United are prepared to shell out £70m plus on Harry Maguire, so why were they not willing to sign De Ligt who joins Juventus for £67.5m?

According to the Evening Standard, United were convinced the centre-back was joining Barcelona and therefore gave up on the deal. There had been talk that the Red Devils had decide to withdraw their interest due to concerns the player would “get fat like his dad.” wtf?!?!?

De Ligt is also represented by Mino Raiola, who has a frosty relationship with United. It’s likely if they were to pursue a deal, they would have been forced to pay a premium figure to get it over the line. Raiola netted £9m from the deal and also ensured that a release clause of £135m was included in De Ligt’s Juventus contract. That means he could be set to earn another mega pay day further down the line should the clause be triggered.

Former United defender Jonathan Spector has been left surprised that his old club have opted for Maguire as opposed to the former Ajax star.
“I thought they would potentially be chasing someone like De Ligt but Maguire is a good player and I think he could be good for the club, but only for the right price,” he told American Gambler. "It seems like English players command a premium and if they could get him for the right price, I think it would be a good buy.

the "get fat like his dad" argument
