Just going by capology present contract says 8.48M net euro per year for 3 more seasons, Wow! That's one hell of a contract he signed.. And says only made 320K net euro for Ajax last year there. Then plays like the next greatest thing since slice bread against us in CL and gets 8M net euro with Juve. WTH did we have to draw Alax in CL action.

Of course he should be much more, how is that even a debate? The guy is not even 25 yet, he still has 3 years left on his contract and United are not afraid of paying insane sums left and right.

50 mio euro is actually a very reasonable price for him.

just one remark: the offer might be influenced by his wages. he's on 16m gross (13-14m in gbp) which would be the 3rd highest base salary in the current united squad. and that's also part of a player package. they can pay 50m for a youngster no problem because he won't and can't demand +10m figures, but if a defender costs 30m per season (including wages, amortization, agent fees, bonus), that might be a bit too much even for a pl team
