What a series of posts. I guess its just love for drama, more than the Demiral "rumors" even.

De Ligt has started 100% of the games he has been available for. In fact he must be the only player with this statistic. Not even Ronaldo, Szczesny, or Bonucci have player as many minutes as De Ligt relative to those they have been available for.

Even at some point he must be benched simply for rest or squad management before an important game.

But instead let's create speculation about nepotism, contracts, italian coach biases, or reasons to fire Pirlo lol

Stating the obvious (and a good few months ahead of myself)....

Chiello just doesn't have the pace for Lukaku nor is he the right style of centre half to take him on. I'm amazed by Lukaku's work with his back to goal, the way he turns past his marker. Only Morata has a similar ability though he does it less regularly. Thinking back to Chiellini's famous match ups against big CFs - against Cavani or Milito, for example - he can't just wear and harass him out of the game. Against Ibra? He was more nimble then, not that he didn't pester the hell out of him as well.

Lukaku is a modern phenomenon. Physically imposing, outstanding technique, blistering pace. He needs a modern centre half in De Ligt who'll beat him to the ball. De Ligt is a master at that - highly proactive, highly intelligent like Cannavaro but he has the physique to boot. Demiral is proactive, a great interceptor and strong too but he's not the sharpest knife in the draw. Too bad he's low on match practice and confidence as well because he's likely to blunder at the best of times. Two more games against Inter (both must wins). If De Ligt is for some reason not there, that's season defining.

Anyway, Pirlo doesn't like Demiral for some reason. Don't know if it's a matter of balance or a lack of trust in his temperament. Not cultivating his talent has been one of Pirlo's bigger errors though. God forbid he's consigned to the status of Rugani.

That's my CB rant.

We have rarely, if ever had all 3 of De Ligt, Chielleni and Bonucci fully fit at the same time since De Ligt joined, which is why he has started most of the games he has been available for. It’s unlikely that he would have established himself as a regular so quick had it not been for Chielleni injuries but he has and deservedly so.

But this is is a unique situation with all our CBs available in a really long time and it remains to be seen what Pirlo chooses.

I don’t think nepotism is at play with his selection of Bonucci. He’s just established himself as a first time regular and most coaches don’t want to bench him. Other coaches would do the same, at national at international level. I’m assuming his fitness and ability to play full 90 mins week in and week out plays a big role here too, despite his penchant for idiocy.

A recent phenomenon. I can't think of another striker with all of those attributes rolled into one.
what attributes exactly? he's just a big lump who can't even perform some of the basics like a decent first touch half the time, even likes to defensive headers on his own team mate's attack and likes to score an own goal in a cup final. His only attribute he has is that he just tries to bulldoze people with his fat ass, but on a technical level he's still a very average player at best.

I remember last season Bonucci, yes Bonucci the worst defender in Serie A even had lukaku in his pockets twice!

a modern phenomenon he is not, not even close to the likes of Haaland or Mbappe who i'd consider a much phenomenon at a younger age too.

He might not be a phenomenon lol, but he's still a very good striker, even though he looks like a donkey at times.

The Lukaku hate around these parts is laughable. He has always been a very good striker but Conte has taken him to the next level. Granted, he has a tendency of going missing in big games, but he is still a top drawer forward.

Anyway..this is the MDL thread. Let’s hate on Bonucci here instead of Lukaku.

No hate im just not into donkey strikers that only bully small teams and choke 99 percent of big matches, even in the last match vs us "which was probably he's best big match ever performance" he still chocked that huge chance and failed too score.

Calling him a modern phenomenon is laughable, ill take Morata any day over him.

Sorry but to call him a modern phenomenon would put him in the brackets of Mbappe and Haaland, or even when Messi and Ronaldo were in their 20s. Lukaku is not even remotely close to any of them not now, not ever. This is not hate, it's pure fact.
