After the co-ownership between Milan and Palermo was extended on 23 June 2011,[11][12] he was loaned to Torino in Serie B on 12 July. His first appearance for Torino was on 13 August 2011 in Torino-Lumezzane (1–0) during the second round of Coppa Italia; while his first goal for Torino was in the 12th game of the season in Torino-Empoli, giving his team the win 2–1.
In Bari-Torino, disputed on 13 November 2011, he suffered a lesion of the acetabular labrum, causing him to miss five games.[16] At the end of the season Torino earned promotion to Serie A, with Darmian making 33 appearances in the league and one in Coppa Italia.
On 20 June 2012 Palermo redeemed his 50% from Milan for €500,000 and on 5 July his return to Torino was formulised under a new co-ownership agreement for a fee of €850,000. In 2012–13 he made 30 appearances for Torino, with two in Coppa Italia. On 20 June 2013, the co-ownership agreement with Palermo was resolved in favour of Torino. In 2013–14, he made 37 appearances for Torino with one in Coppa Italia. After Danilo D'Ambrosio departure to Inter Milan, Darmian substituted him on the left flank, also occasionally covering as an emergency central defender. On 18 May 2014, he made his 100th league appearance for Torino during a draw to Fiorentina.
