He’s potentially a great player and in an ideal world we are keep and developing guys like him instead of selling him.

But Juventus fans are as deluded as ever and believe we can hold on to everyone, they think we aren’t mired in horrendous debt, they think that the NextGen program (for now) is anything other than a cash cow to service our enormous debt and a tool to help us sign more established players.
Once we get our finances in a stronger position then we won't have to sell players just to balance the books and then replace them to keep the squad competitive, but it might take a few years. It's a juggling act that people might not see because at face value we might even sign a player for more than we sell another, but it doesn't work like that year on year when you're selling youth players with low book value for 15m+.

We'll still sell players from NG, however, if it means they fund better players. I know fans like to obsess about home grown players but few will become first team players. We will regret selling some but it's not an exact science knowing who is going to become a great player or fits our squad at any given time.

I'm not that worried about selling him, and €30m+ is a good deal. He's not a generational talent, probably not even an extraordinary one, and I don't see him becoming a player that could carry our team in the future. If you look at where the game is headed, slow / average-paced wingers just cannot cut it anymore, and I think he is a Dybala-type of player (less talented tho), and I just don't see him making a difference on the wing game in game out. If he would play as AM that would be different.

What I'm more worried about are his replacements that we are targeting. Really unaspiring. Probably even lesser players than him. So yes, I would rather keep him in light of the players that we are targeting to replace him, but we all know our financial reality.

#Soulé is virtually a #Roma player and frees another piece of la Vecchia Signora puzzle. And #Giuntoli, after the long courtship that started in December, is ready to do everything possible to get #Koopmeiners. Trying doesn't always mean succeeding in the mercato. Even more so, when you have in front of you #Atalanta, that yesterday reiterated its position: "Koop? He is worth what I said last week. Teun is a fundamental player and his exit was never taken into consideration", explained #Percassi. #Juve, strong from the approval by the Dutchman, from the sum allocated to him from the budget at the beginning of the mercato (€40/45M) and from the new sales, is ready to present to la Dea the first official offer. Only reason i wanted to keep him is because we have so few players that can actually dribble successfully and take players on to create space, Chiesa used to be one of them but hasn’t been showing it lately and is also rumored to be on the way out, so currently we are left with only Yildiz and Cambiaso of similar characteristics on the wings and that’s about it…

We’ll need to carefully asses who we replace them with because this team needed more players of this ilk to be added on top of the existing ones and not just to replace the already select few.

Matias Soulé to AS Roma, here we go! Deal in place for talented winger after verbal agreement revealed.

€26m fixed fee, €2m easy add-ons and €2m difficult add-ons packag and 10% sell-on clause to Juventus.

Five year deal to Soulé, wanted by Friedkin and de Rossi.

What I'm asking myself is that if we wanted to sign Soule based on the season he had, would Roma sell him to us for that price?
Difference is he would've been a key player for Roma in those circumstances which would increase the price compared to JJ trying to get rid of Soulé for plusvalenza reasons

I'm sure we would've loved to keep him but we are selling him for plusvalenza. I don't understand why people act like this is Ronaldo era JJ

We have been making 100-200M losses every year for the last 3-4 seasons and people expect us to keep our youngsters AND reinforce like half the squad with no money. Let's be real here.

JJ want to get back to the top quickly but they also have a financial need.

We are probably not interested in him in the first place. Even if we are interested I believe Giuntoli will pay max like what Fiorentina pays Colpani from Monza (20m include bonus as premium) . He scored 8 goals and 4 assists last season with Monza. Basically in the same strata as Soule

Colpani is 25 though, italian getting Soules perfomances at 21 is 40m easily
