There should be something wrong in our financial system if the club really can't hold players. I think The club has created its own debt situation since CR7 and now it's gotten worse that can't compete with Serie A teams.

I think most would prefer Soule to stay but we should not lose sight of the forest for the trees. If his sacrifice helps lead to a better overall squad then I’m all for it. Its hard to criticise any one transfer decision in isolation until we see what the squad looks like after the last day of the transfer season, how much was spent and access the economic impacts at the same time.

It’s early days but I am cautiously optimistic on what Giuntoli and Motta are plotting.

The question is, will we get a better player for a reasonable price...i cant see a better option (winger) for a better price... he is young, fast and have a great tehnique.

so it looks like roma of all clubs is his best offer, and their competition is leicester. and some want jj to build the squad around him.

Given he prefers Roma and wants to stay in serie A, I don’t think we will get the 30-35m we were hoping for. Roma will low ball us for sure. If that is the case, it might be worthwhile reconsidering his sale
Completely agree. I do understand plusvalenza or capital gains but there is a plusvalenza today and one next year when he's playing and producing. I just don't agree with selling guys whose value is obviously just going up.

if we can do the same to alatanta and Koopmeiners, i think we will consider Roma option with at least 30m include bonus. Let's say 7m loan with obligation to buy at 40m + 5m bonus for koop.

Most that want to keep him are saying it due to the alternatives that had been rumored… unless you think the likes of Sancho(most decent option but still a big question mark), Greenwood, ElShaarawy or Berardi would be better for jj to build around, that with the prospect of also letting Chiesa go simultaneously.

Devils advocate; If Soule were such an indispensable talent why are his primary suitors Leicester and Roma? Like if Yildiz was on the market the entire continent would be after him. Even Huijsen is getting more attention.
This is my point.

We've been so starved of young players that we think they're all worldies. Honestly they're not that good. When one of them bursts onto the scene like Pogba then we hang on at all costs.
