Maybe he'll never live up to the hype and perhaps he's not a 40M player and we snatch that money, but a young player with his ability could be moulded into something great. Chelsea were quick to dismiss Salah and De Bruyne because at the time they weren't good enough for Chelsea, but both turned out to be world class. You can't really make a financial loss on Soulé, so why not try and nurture him.

I don't see how we can get the quality that we want unless we spend at least 50M so give the kid a chance. It's why I'm annoyed with the Luiz deal because with Emery I can see the kids we let go blossoming.

Juve can get €30m in their pockets today and sign someone else where the payment is spread over many years. So it could mean €30m today from Leicester and then we give Dortmund say €10m today for Adeyemi and another €30m spread over the next four years or something. That means selling Soulé can generate money for another investment this summer. It's €30 in from his sale, minus the €10m we send to Dortmund. Then we have €20m for another signing like Todibo. This is the only way a sale makes any logic to me. Otherwise I have no idea why you would sell one winger for another or why we would even want to sell Soule when we need a quality right winger.

But it doesn't make any sense to sell Soule when we're selling Chiesa as well. We're essentially going to completely downgrade our wing positions to sign Koopmeiners? And the wingers we're linked to are not on the same level. Adeyami has had a mediocre season while the rest are not as good as Chiesa and Soule.

I don’t care if the kid wants Roma… he goes to the team that puts the money we want in the table.

If Roma can’t pay 35M then fu₡k Roma…
If Leicester can pay the 35M but the kid don’t want to go there… then he stays.

As simple as that.

He can play plenty here if he’s 1st sub to Chiesa or Berardi, both have a history of being injured a lot. Also supposedly Soule will be on low wages… if he turns out to be mediocre, then atleast he’s on low wages compared to mediocrity like Todibo or Adeyemi on high wages

Hey Roma, I heard you want wingers? First it's Chiesa and now Soule? Tell you what, let me introduce you a player who meet your budget aka the one you should actually target for. He is

I don’t understand the urgency in wanting to sell him.

He’s likely to flourish under Motta, we don’t have enough wingers as it is, there’s not a clear replacement/upgrade available, and he’s homegrown at the club.

Also, selling him would be a concerning sign that the new management is only interested in developing young talent to sell them off - likely to just buy the latest flavor of the month in Serie A for a premium price.

Sell the dead weight, even at a cut-rate price, before even entertaining selling this kid.

why, who’s replacing Vlahovic
He cost too much to us with now nett salary at 12m. His amortization cost is massive too. His performance and output isn't worth the cost. Plus no sign of contract extension with lower salary. It's Chiesa situation all over again next summer.

I prefer zirkzee before but it's too late. Gudmundson, adeyemi, or even yildiz can fill his spot.

No one understands this sale and chiesa.

Total downgrades with no replacements in sight just to overpay for Koop.

Totally Paraticiesque and i hope yuntoli is more than this.

Probably, but Motta wants him so :boh:
Motta can want whatever he wants, it doesnt mean we NEED to buy it. If he wants Koop so much then hey, you put money on it too.

At this point i oprefer to keep soule chiesa and try fagioli as CAM instead of overspend for just 1 players and get crippled all opver the place.

Its stupid,

Yes, it's hard to understand why they want to sell both RW options. For me there are 2 scenarios:

1. Much less likely. Motta will change his formation and doesn't use 2 wingers anymore.

2. This would make more sense. They are trying to sell both Chiesa and Soule because Motta already had his starting RW in the squad. That's Cambiasso. We expect that Cambiasso would play LB as Motta did use him in that position before. But over last year Cambiasso improved a lot. Now he is a complete package, intelligent movement, very good delivery, good at both phases,.... And it's a waste to put him at LB imo. He will be perfect as a more defending winger (Saelemaekers ?) with more attack winger in the other side: Yildiz (Orsolini). If we think Cambiasso as a starting RW, then things would make sense. Sell Chiesa, sell Soule for cash, sign Cabal.

Or and that's the most likely scenario imo; we have a (secret) deal in place for someone else. Giuntoli seems to conclude his deals pretty fast, just like Cabal yesterday.

If the replacement is adequate there is nothing to regret or look back on, but that will sure be a big IF, because top quality wingers usually don’t come for cheap wages or lowball bargains.

Cant we do any of the real madrid type of deal sell with a buyback clause .
Feel sad losing Soule, would rather see Chiesa leaving.
