I get the logic of doing it but it is this short term thinking that Tici seemed obsessed with that has been a big issue for us long term.

If we can ride out not making a plusvalenza it can benefit us more financially to keep him. We need a 5 year plan not a 1 year plan.

Take Soule vs Zhergrova and use the example of both being 40m players.

If we buy Zhergrova at 40m for 5 years we take a hit of 8m per year to our accounts. We also will be paying him higher wages than Soule, plus an agent fee to sign him. In 5 years he will be 30 which would limit his resale.

If we keep Soule his amortisation is basically nothing for the rest of his career here. The 40m gain made in selling him is effectively cancelled out over 5 years by keeping him in comparison to Zhergrova. His wages are low and probably would still be even after a renewal. Agent fees also lower for a renewal. In 5 years he is still only 26 and arguably not even hit his peak for resale.

I get that we need capital gains for FFP but selling low cost guys on an upward trajectory of their career is maybe not the most sensible move.
There are no excuses. He’s cheaper and arguably better than most alternatives, sell all the other trash first and then we’ll talk about needing more plusvalenza or not.

i'd have to check but iirc with ronaldo we were at almost 400m yearly cost for the whole squad (gross wages and amortization included), and now we're at around 220-230m. as for player wages only, fuck knows... i'd say from ~200m we should be down to ~120m, i'd really have to check. ronaldo alone cost us a fortune, 80-something millions per season, with around 53-55m in wages lol. with sandro and potentially tek leaving we should be closer to 100m
That's promising, we should have some room for potenial investments.

juve should do the madrid thing.

if you going to sell cheap, have a buy back clause at a higher rate. sell for 30m have buy back clause in 2 years for 45m.

have a percentage clause for clubs to purchase him. sell for 30m sure but have a 25% sale clause on next transfer.
Was going to suggest this, but I'm sure a higher fee than €45M will be demanded.

imo i am ok with that.

you are essentially paying a club to develop a player for 30m - 45 or 55 or 60m so net difference is 30m ma for a player you lent out to develop for 2 seasons.

that to me is smart business because if he develops he could become a 100m lpayer you are getting for 30m. its peanuts for a club like juve.

morata was sold to juve for 20m, signed back for 35m and then sold to chelsea for 70m. crazy profit and i hope juve can replicate this model.

Tici did it unusually by swapping players and inflated value.

The problem is we need those plusvalenza in at least next summer. UEFA monitors our financial statement every 3 season. Last season to be monitored is 24/25. So plusvalenza before summer 2025 is needed.

Yeah we are in a tough spot financially, at least in terms of profit. Tici was obsessed with plusvalenza and didn't plan ahead, we are still paying the price of it with Arthur.

I think we have enough opportunities for plusvalenza without selling Soule. By selling McKennie, Barrenenchea, Barbieri, Hans, Rovella, Pellegrini, Perin, Illing Jr we could make some decent gains without losing much. I can't make my mind up on Illing but if he doesn't sign a new contract we will need to cash in anyway. Selling Gatti would also help if we were open to it.

It may come down to one of Huijsen, Soule, Chiesa or Bremer though.

Arthur will need to be another loan while his book value drops for another year, hopefully with an obligation. Nobody will pay enough to avoid a loss.

Let’s just say it will. I would probably have a long talk with Bremer and see what his intentions really are and how committed to Juve he really is. Because selling him would solve a lot of issues, at least financially. I would hate to sell Huijsen only to be sitting here next summer with Bremer looking to bounce. Need to have a little better foresight than that. This also applies to Chiesa, but he’s not as valuable on paper as Bremer.

If it's up to me i will sell Vlahovic
I actually agree with this even though I am a huge fan of Vlahovic.

A Bremer-Calafiori defensive pairing will last you 6-7 seasons easily and I prefer retaining our defensive spine. Defense wins you championships.

Then in midfield, if you can add two new midfielders, you form a solid core in defense and midfield.

As for attack, if we assume Zirkzee to be Vlahovic replacement, someone like Chiesa could hugely benefit playing off of him. I can see Chiesa scoring 15-20 goals a season playing alongside a more well rounded striker like Zirkzee, besides he was a huge part of how Motta's Bologna functioned in the attacking phase.

And then there's this crazy contract situation with Vlahovic. I would keep him but if a crazy offer arrives, I'd rather sell him over Chiesa or Bremer.

I'm anticipating at least one big sale. Remains to be seen who we will cash in on.

I agree with the Defense part. However, I also believe our club has no intentions on selling Vlahovic. And I also believe he's the guy with least desire to leave the club.

Then again IF we really do sell him, I think his replacement shouldn't be Zirkzee.

Im good to cash in on him as long as we buy someone who can lift us up this year, especially on UCL. I hope we insert some % commission on next sale though, and do that for every home grown players that we sell
