Should have made his subs earlier. Didn't like the fact that Vucinic and Pirlo were made to slug it out for the whole 90 with Shaktar around the corner. in fact, he should've kept the tempo going with new players inserted into the game, before we switched off and gave Roma more possession.
Exactly with us 3-0 up we really needed pirlo off. The work was done for him.

In that position of dominance, substitutes aren't made hastily in case any injuries occur.

You'll find that when Juve are losing, a couple are usually made within the first 10-15 minutes of the second half.

The "resting players" argument has got to be one of the lamest around the forum.
That then renders the depth argument redundant doesn't it? Point being, it has been acknowledged that Pirlo is tired by the staff, and if you can get Pogba on for him at 0-0 in Florence you can do the same at 3-0 at home. Vucinic being integral technically is another player who was supposed to rest for 2 out of the last 3 games but ended up playing close to half those games. At the position we were in, you'd be well served giving him a breather because he's already switched off for all practical purposes but only making up the numbers and tiring himself out. Especially with a continental game in three days. He may not be flat out tired, but it will affect his tempo and intensity in the next game.

sure, and then we get an injury...

If we would have been running and pressing for 90 minutes, this is an argument.

However, we stopped that after just 30 minutes, and walked out the other 60

And i expect a professional player, to completely recover from this.

"Last season we did not play in Europe, so maybe this is why we are so tired. We are not used to playing so many games and we have not been able to let some important players rest so far."

Lame argument or not, Massimo seems to think it's an issue.

If we plan to rotate to rest players, we should start now. The players need to get used to it. We can't wait until mid-season. Do it now. Even if we risk to lose some points.

What does he know? It's not like he works with the players all week.

I think he'll get back to his role as first-team coach and will work closely with Conte and Alessio. Next season, he'll find himself a club to manage... Maybe Siena or Atalanta.
