Normally I 100% agree with this take. But in a season where we play once a week, there’s no harm imo in starting Yildiz here. Bring on Milik in the 60th min or whatever if Yildiz is having a poor game.
Honestly, we would have cruised this match even with Milik starting, if not for the red. We started on the front foot and created some decent chances before the red. I don’t mind giving Yildiz a break and bringing him in to kill the game off late.

This result is on the red from Milik and then our piss poor performance after the red when down a man. It really highlighted how bad our midfield can be. As well, Allegri’s failure to get Yildiz on the pitch much earlier in the 2nd half.

People here seriously think Yildiz needs 2 weeks off to be ready for Inter? 2 weeks?

No the answer is always the most obvious. The coach is a retard. He didn't even know who Yildiz was last time we played Inter.
Maybe he was nursing an injury?

His stamina isn't great, so not unrealistic to think he needed a breather/was carrying something after going from nothing to a starter in senior football in a short space of time. Ordinarily Milik would have been fine for Empoli at home, we've beaten better teams with him starting.

He is the one to make decisions and today his decisions backfired. Milik should never see the pitch again or for a long while I hope not to see him. However, nothing is lost though. We might as well win next weekend and forget entirely about this.

When will players take their responsibility? Di Maria did similar thing last year against monza. The scudetto race will certainly go down to the final few rounds irrespective of the result in the game against inter.

It's fine to rest for whatever bullshit excuse you come up with but the alternative is always just putting two 9s together? Always. Every time?

doesn't it apply for the majority of the squad though

it is what it is, a mediocre squad. and when players act true to their abilities, are we really shocked?

before this game milik played around 500 minutes in the league. he's a reserve, let's not pretend like he was allegri's favorite. chiesa is injured, kean is injured and waiting to be transferred, the only alternative would have been yildiz, who's not a 90 minute player at the moment, and we need him against inda. so milik got a rare start. shocking, right?

milik of course fucked it up, and i didn't like how we approached the whole match. if you want to bitch about the tactics or the preparation, the lack of plan b once again, go ahead, i'll probably agree. starting milik though made sense.

We will not forget about this because "merda" still have game in hand and wining it will put them on first place. That wouldn't be a case in the same scenario but we getting 3 points tonight.

Call it an excuse if you want, if he was carrying an injury or they felt he was tired then it seems a pretty legitimate reason to leave him out. It is purely guessing from me, I have no idea why they rested him but he does fade after around 55mins, so it isn't crazy to think that he might need a rest.

It was home v Empoli, Milik and Vlahovic should have been fine. The red card changed the game and I don't think anyone would have predicted a red for Milik 15 mins in.

Milik and Vlahovic play quite differently. Milik drops really deep to link up and it could let Vlahovic stay further up. The idea should be Milik drops deep and plays it to Miretti/Kostic/Cambiaso to get forward. With Chiesa out and Kean away there aren't really many other options than Milik if you replace Yildiz without completely changing your system to play Illing or Weah off the striker and neither have shown much to suggest it is worth trying that.Other option would be Miretti as a 10 but Rabiot was out too. I'm not sure who else you'd go for.

What an embarrassing Turk-level post. Yildiz has been great coming along under Allegri’s tutelage. The coach who brought him up from nextgen, integrated him into the first team and has him starting matches regularly at 18.And y’all are throwing toddler tantrums about how Allegri didn’t have him starting earlier. Or isn’t starting him every single match while the kid doesn’t seem to more than 60 minutes in his legs.

He was in Primavera last season, as well as playing in 7 nextgen matches last year and 7 this year. Didn’t exactly set the world on fire with 2 goals - 1 assist in those 14 matches. So let’s stop pretending it was obvious he was going to be this good in Serie A and that Allegri was somehow holding him back and retarded for not playing him sooner. It’s thanks to Allegri that he’s even at this level this early in his career when he wasn’t exactly killing it in lower levels.

LOL how can anyone blame Max for that Milik fukup? Once again I state Max could have picked starters names out of a hat that could/should have produced a win against this type of inferior opponent. Nice to get lead down man but can only hold on for so long but didn't. Did anyone expect Max to be more offensive down a man.

I question WTF Sandro ever starts again. Don't care how well he might have played. That POS should only get mop up time when up at least 2 goals. Rugani was easily available for LB.

Max Allegri : “The team played a good match. We tried to win it with two favorable chances in the first half. Then we took the lead through Dusan’s goal. You can’t win every match , compliments to Empoli”

- - - Updated - - -

Allegri: "Could Yidiz have played earlier? In hindsight ghost towns are built. Making a point was very important today still and In the end we’re coming from a positive streak of victories and a draw is a continuation of that”
