It's the third season and the team is still utter clueless as to build-up play. We don't know how to beat high pressing. The link between defenders and midfielders always looks shaky. Like 8 out of 10 times we are forced to pass the ball wide or do long balls with low accuracy, because there are usually less than 1 midfielder dropping back to distribute the balL. And most of the time our midfielders are very unconfident and uncomfortable with the ball. Rookie mistakes almost every other game.

It's 100% on the coach. wtf they're doing in training?

Stupid manager. Took Kostic off for Illing who isn't a defender and Sassuolo immediately found themselves 3 on 3 since Weah was also playing far forward. The CMs couldn't cover and we were lucky to only eat 4, their LW had so many great chances.

Again, we created little and it was only Chiesa. We need a 4-2-3-1 and frankly, the 2 CMs just need to sit back and defend because they can't do shit in attack. Front 4 should be Chiesa, Vlahovic, Kostic, and Illing. Pogba never coming back so forget the whole control the midfield bullshit.

The thing is that the quality in distribution is lacking due to the average technical ability of many of our players that can’t control even seemingly easy passes under pressure, so i’m afraid it’s not just the tactics but also the personnel that is incapable of doing well consistently which weights us down just as much…

That ofc should not be an excuse for Allegri and his outdated views/ideas of football as he has different players and options to choose from, the two narratives are not mutually exclusive, but let’s say the club is aware of us being a significantly weaker squad/team compared to a few years ago and are not really aiming for any trophies but just to primarily build a new core around next gen players while reaching a european competitions spot, then what’s the point in keeping this overpaid and underperforming coach around when clearly the team in his 3rd straight season is as clueless and hot and cold as it’s been in his first season back here.

What are we even building towards? Reaching top 4 now to have the same shitshow next season with the same coach and personnel being humiliated in the UCL groups and getting out of the Scudetto race by December.

It's been clear from the beginning that Allegri is not one to coach the attacking side of the game. He doesn't improve players technically but instead he coaches them tactics on being robust and compact. He got away with this when he had BBC in their prime and better players in midfield and attack. Now that the quality of the players has dropped he doesn't have top players to bail him out anymore.

It's been one giant car crash but again I won't blame Allegri for this, it's the management above him who hired him and made him inherit the mess of a team.

Howver I've said this since 2016, if you want to be ambitious and win the CL Allegri is not the person you hire for that. He's too pragmatic and teams are so good in attack these days you get punished if you sit back and react to them.

The club has been in crisis since Agnelli replaced Allegri, it's been bad decision after bad decision. Signing Ronaldo, firing Marotta, hiring Allegri for a second spell and the decision of management doesn't seem to come from any long-term planning or vision.

That’s the thing we aren’t building shit. We’re content finishing just high enough to qualify for the CL no matter if the squad still looks clueless for a third season in a row.

Allegri is here because he almost guarantees that. There isn’t a plan for the future. For a moment I thought we were different, that we were working towards becoming one of the big boys in world football, we had a good momentum for a bit. Truth is we’re going full Italy.

Even if we have players with crap technique, Allegri can adjust the playing style. If we have crap passing, bring the players closer together or you ask someone to go and support. Same for Vlahovic who struggles to control the ball, pass the ball in front of him and to his feet rather than to his body because he'll mess up the control and lose possession.

Clealy with the 3-5-2, our 3 CBs are not organised nor are they fast enough. Berardi played deep and had so much time pick his pass, he was never picked up by the CMs. Lauriente was never intercepted and always slipped past the back line. You can tell 3 at the back is a failure and there is zero chemistry. They need a dedicated DM to shield them.

The team needs fresh ideas from a new manager. Simple as that. If you see the body language from our players, you can tell that they're sick of playing shit rigid football.
