The early Allegri team could actually counter attack so there was a benefit to sometimes sitting deep and letting teams force the play.

I'd be all for 40% possession a game and sitting deep if we had a team tailor made to do that and hit people on the break. We're allergic to buying fast, physical players though.
We averaged about 57% possession in the league for his first 4 years and our average win in the league was by ~2 goals. Not sure where the idea comes that we just grinded results in the league with negative, defensive football back then even.

We played on the counter in Europe against a few teams, but even then it often wasn’t so simplistic as that.

No I'm saying going forward I'd be absolutely fine with that if we actually built a team to pull it off

We tried to control games with our superior midfield back then and usually did. BUT, it wasn't the end of the world when we didn't because we had an energetic team that could pull off counter attacks.

We also need a coach who isn’t washed up coaching our players. A front trio of Chiesa-Vlahovic-Di Maria should be able to counter quite effectively. But we sit so deep under Allegri 2.0 that countering is almost impossible as we don’t have numbers breaking forward ever when we win the ball back.

I dont see Juve as performing/winning only in Italy.
I watched Juve since the WC94.. and we were the real madrid you see today in those years.
From 2000 till 2006... we were mostly stupid and not the strongest... then farsopoli came, and till this day, we have never really recovered the position we were in before 2006.

Also, CL as a competition was not as great before the 90s.
Serie A itself had bigger teams than CL.
I guess that winning Serie A was more important than winning CL back in the days. But that just me, probably..

Sorry.. bro.. but if you think winning EL this season will stop the other teams fan from saying this.. then you're wrong.. actually.. this will be like an adult telling another adult
"You had to play with the boys "EL" to win something. This is your real level"

So.. i would love us to win EL.. but that's just because we are in it anyway.
I am desperate!

Is there actually anyone above Allegri to fire him ? I don't think so. The entire club is in free fall. Nothing positive about the club, the management, the coach, the players everything sucks.
