last week it was napoli, before that it was milan, now it's arsenal of all teams (i'm trying hard not to laugh)

how about juventus of lippi, or juventus of conte/allegri, i was mostly happy with those teams. no need to mimic losers having a good few months or a year maybe. perfect examples of well drilled teams can be found in our own past.

You might want to try harder because every single one of these teams are moving in the right direction. You can look upto any of them. Arsenal are an excellent example because they have crap for so long and maintained faith with the same manager, and are now seeing its benefits..unlike the knee jerk reactions of dismissals and rehiring at Juve over the last years. There are good examples everywhere that don’t need to be limited to Conte and Lippi.

I can't see us spending big on Tuchel or Poch so it'll definitely be a short term option until the summer.

I have had this awful feeling for a while that we'll end up going with Mancini and Allegri going the other way and coaching the National team.

Why?

He won two trophies. His teams had an attacking spark. Not as organized as other seasoned managers, but i saw more positives than negatives considering how he inherited a team during covid with pre-season and no management experience

He was a terrible manager, up there with Del Neri. Just because Allegri has failed doesn't make him any better. He won 2 trophies but were pretty low profile and scraped top 4 because Napoli through it away on the final day.

We attacked but it came at the expense of our shape/defence. It is easy to just go and attack, the hard bit is doing it and being solid.

I like Pirlo and hope he becomes a successful manager but have seen little that suggests he will. Just because Arteta is young doesn't mean all young managers will be good. Arteta also learned his trade for 2/3 years as an assistant for Pep.

Arsenal make a ton of money even when shit because they're in the EPL with so much TV money. Their fans also show up because there are lots of clubs that people want to see. We can't afford to spend like them and be shit, we'd need to sell Vlahovic and Chiesa just like we did De Ligt to try and 'improve' our squad and hire 'world class' managers.

I kinda wish we had the same management philosophy as Arsenal. Big question marks around Arteta initially but sure enough, he is turning things around. Maybe Pirlo would have done the same had he not been booted after one season. If you invest in a young manager, you need to give him team and be prepared for some initial mediocrity.

Whenever they let go of Allegri, i hope they bring in someone young with fresh ideas that may bear fruit in the long run.

Man, we didn't sack Pirlo back in the day. There's no way we'll sack Allegri on a fat contract. Despite us being total shit and dropping points he's staying surely. He probably has no shame so he won't quit too. Either way this is/will be a painful season to watch. Even when we get points we play like shit.

Pirlo should have been given another chance with a tight leash in the second season based on the fact that he’s new and it wasn’t a total disaster. You would expect that it might take a long while for a new manager like Pirlo to make it work, even more than a season, if you have any idea at how difficult it can be. That’s where this Arteta comparison makes sense. They could have fired him after their series of losses last season and he gradually improved over time. But that takes patience and…. AND! A plan, which clearly this stupid club doesn’t have whatsoever.

Rehiring Allegri was always a huge gamble and one that stinks to high heaven as a panic move trying to squeeze the last few drops out of legacy players.
