I used to be an Allegri optimist , but if our game play doesnt improve this season with his second season in charge how much is it due to the players. With all the player blaming , truth be told this team is no lesser than Milan/Inter , we should at least be challenging in serie A and at least round of 16 in CL the minimum on paper.
Our team is definitely the strongest on paper. Considering how Milan won it last season I expect us to be much better.
CL - We would probably qualify from the group stage and then we would go one step forward and get kicked by a stronger team.
If we do meet a mid-level Spanish English German French or whatever - I expect us to qualify. I just hope my expectations meet reality.

Every first half these 3 games was very good/excellent. Problems start in the second when kids and reserves of reserves come on.

On paper the starting 11 looks really good. Depth is the problem. Let's see what they do until the end of the window.

Sure, but both Milan and Inter have had underwhelming mercatos too. For us, Di Maria and Bremer are top acquisitions, and I expect at least another quality signing like Kostic. Pogba injured ok.. but we have a starter in Fagioli who has come off two very impressive performances against two top sides. But he needs to know he has the confidence of the coach, which I'm not sure he does, because he's "not experienced".

Anyway, I believe we should have an edge over these teams this season, and there should be no excuses for not winning the scudetto this time round.
Di Maria and Bremer are top acquisitions, but right now theyre replacing Dybs, Morata and de Ligt, thats hardly a big step forward. Fagioli might be an upgrade, but honestly how much can you expect from a youngster coming from Serie B in his first season? Id be happy if he gets a rotational spot and shows promise.

If mercato finished like this, Id give it a 3/10.. imo we're at least 2 good players short + I'm still hoping we get rid of at least 2/3 from Sandro, Rabiot and Arthur

If Inter don't sell Skriniar or anyone else, they would've actually strengthened imo. Lukaku is a huge upgrade over Dzeko.

Milan still have the solid base from last year

But there's no excuse to atleast not challenge for the league tho

If Allegri produces the same stuff as last year, there's no point in keeping him any longer than this season. There needs to be a concrete improvement.

And I really wish this management stops taking a chance on injury prone players. Just because this team doesn't have too many 'elite talents' , that doesn't justify committing huge sums of money on broken players.

This is a high risk-reward situation and we've been taking too many of these AND failing massively.

No it is not. Far from it. Without Bremer we have a verona/Torino level defense.
With Bremer we jump a notch but far away from merda and Milan.
And the defense was actually the part that won Juve 9 titles in a row.
Since we started to concede upward of 35 goals / season, we started to lose the title.

Let's not mention the midfield.

We havent improved in a single department from last season, i dont see any single reason why should we expect anything more than what we played and (not)won last year... Conte's first season, the players we bought, the areas we strenghten, the concept we had, that is exactly what you do when you want to improve, compete and come out of a deep and dark hole like we are in right now. Buying 2 players, one 34 years old, and one injury prone player who has managed only 20 games per season in his last 3 years is NOT an improvement and a step in the right direction....

Look at the first few seconds of the match against Real. They tried to catch us off guard. They used this action plan last season and managed to score.

I hope Max saw this and took notes.

But I guess he would ruin even such a perfect action plan, lul.
