PI, what you say is correct. Though IMO a good manager is supposed to motivate players to at least attempt to do their best no matter what the situation. If what you say is the case, let's just forfeit the game. Why pay the players if they don't have any pride. It's almost to a point where it can be questioned has Max lost this club mentally? I believe Max is adequately instructing them how to play, but so many careless and lazy mistakes one has to wonder.

If I was Max I let go ALL of these players who have let him down or just ain't good enough. For every player still with the team and young ones coming aboard to see it won't be accepted. I don't care if Berna and MDS accepted 1 mil a year salary. Gone.

That’s a HUGE part of a budget freed up. Hopefully we buy talented youngsters with promise on low wages and stack this team with depth. Get a top CM and Di Maria - we should have enough wages for that
