We did the right call after the final with him but sadly took him back after a year. Spinazzola wasnt/isnt good enough. Cancelo was more detrimental to the team that year. His fuckup led to Ajax's equalizer and many times during the season he'd start opponents counterattack.... We needed a proper midfield, a LB and CB. We faced Ajax with Rugani leading the backline ffs, Pjanic who looked dead every game past 60 minute. The managment focused on CR, while not adressing more pressing issues.

Don't forget the year before. 80M on two RWs, while we had Cuads already. Matuidi instead of a mezzala. Losing Dani Alves and getting De Sciglio. The domino effect of many mercatos we see now

it wasn't even a counter, he had a poor first touch control after Ajax's long ball, then it was complete miscommunication between players, Rugani should have played more agressive to block Neres' shot with his weak foot and Tek late reaction.

RUS actually thinks Arthur is just being played in the wrong position. Apparently he shouldn’t play deep but should be upfield as a Mezzala or a CAM. That inability to forward pass will be great in those roles!

With Mandzukic and Chiellini healthy we definitely progress and then beat Tottenham obviously. But we would have lost to Pool in the final. Our squad wasn’t close to theirs.

Leaving first week of the season was devastating. He played in nearly all our games last 3 seasons and scores 100 goals (under Allegri he was actually the most involved, you go and look at the comments from his thread, whenever he didn't score how well he played), then you remove him. Look at the Udinese game even, we were 2-2 because of stupid mistakes and then he comes in and wins it (well, almost). Incredible how people don't understand the lack of that impact, the ability to win games by himself
