Kulusevski had multiple good games for Juve, pal. Especially at the start of his stint with us. But he couldn't bring it consistently and eventually spiralled downwards. A lot of it was probably a pressure/mental problem. But not playing in a wing based set-up because we only have/had 2 (not counting RB Cuads) didn't help ofc.

One might prefer a coach who famously subbed in Arthur once over.... one with experience as a head coach, who has gone through rough patches at some topclubs and coached through them, maybe one who has won multiple scudetti and Coppa Italia's and gone to CL finals all while being known for his flexibility and working with the squad at hand.

what? I said all year I’d be fine with allowing Pirlo to at least begin coaching another season as long as he got us into top 4. I even said the same of Sarri after we won scudetto. Pirlo especially though, had a better goal differential (scored more and conceded less), had us perform better in cups than Sarri. The biggest difference that had Sarri at 83 pts and Pirlo at 78 pts, was he had a worse midfield and lacked experience in coaching the close, gritty wins. We drew too many games under him. We didn’t grind out the tight wins. All the same I was fine with a second season to see if he could grow further with experience.

The reason both were sacked is that we got worse and worse as the season progressed under them, culminating in very poor finishes. The difference this year is we had an appallingly bad start but have been a solid top 4 team since those first 4 matches. We’ve fixed our porous defence of the past three years and now we need to fix our attack. If we miss top 4 and show no further signs of attacking improvement by season’s end, as I said earlier, I’d be fine with us moving on from Max. I don’t think we shall, but I’d be fine with it. I want to see improvement throughout the season during this transition phase.

Must be mistaken then. I just know only a very select few agreed with me Pirlo was not the main problem.

Last year's team was the worst. If not for Ronaldo we would've been somewhere around the 8th spot. Difficult to improve that. This team already has De Sciglio, Kean, Pellegrini, Zakaria, Vlahovic and Locatelli as extra options...

I agree on the progress this season. It's pretty damn obvious. Allegri needs time and tools to implement his vision and I'm confident we'll give him that.

One can always be wrong but pointing towards Allegri here is either a kneejerk reaction or very sarcastic.

Yes, the past years (4 - 4,5 years now) have shown it very obviously imo. All problems remained with any coach. Also the reason Cristiano ran away when he didn't see quality transfers incoming.

Looking at the present is exacly what I'm doing instead of the oldest trick in the book and pointing towards the coach. Hint: it's an awful squad that needs (further) correcting.

Daring to post in the den of Allegro apologists.

Undeniable fact; he is a legend for taking a great team and extending its winning run, tweaking and changing to keep the run going. For having tactical shrewdness and pragmatism to be brilliant in the Champions League.

Undeniable fact; starting from his first spell, he has now also demonstrated a track record of suicidal pragmatism, more misses than hits by his substitutions, miserable football to watch and a lack of any form of attacking patterns / coaching.

He is not a builder, more of a pragmatic opportunist at heart - which works well when you have a functioning spine to work with and allow to flourish but when the squad needs to build structure and strategy he reverts to type and the team reflects that.

Can he turn it around? Well I hope his suicidal pragmatism sees the need to be way more effective going forward to stand a chance in the modern pressing world of calico let alone wider football.

Question is does he have it in him to coach our team to be effective going forward or do we simply leave it to the players to do as-hoc? If we continue we will remain reliant on individual brilliance and not strategic control or play. Therefore limiting our attacking potential which will hinder the likes of Dusan and stunt Keans development - both who are young and at key points of their career.

You can blame all the midfield and squad building “problems” but a coaches job is to get the best out of what he has. Simple suicidal pragmatism is not enough.

Hopefully he gets it out of his system and starts putting some positive play into his team. Dusan provided an initial spark to play the exciting trident. But football reverted back to long ball.

More could be done with this squad - even with Rabiot

Just saw the highlights of the Spurs-City game. So the winner was basically set up by Bentancur and Kulu..

It seems young players leave Juve to get better at other teams.

Cancelo has been a resounding success at City. Demiral doing well at Atalanta. Kulu and Benta got off to a good start(hopefully it continues)

This isn't exactly related to our performance against Torino but maybe we need to stop singling out our players all the time?

It's hard to point out the exact problem but it seems there is a toxic environment at the club kinda like Inter back in the day who used to make fancy signings but still sucked on the pitch.

Something's got to drastically change. I just don't think our squad is half bad like some like to point out, constantly demonizing our players for bad results.

This team is in a real need of a kick up the ass. Whether it's Allegri, Agnelli or Bini, things will have to change pretty fast.
