We're obviously sticking to Allegri for at the very least another year, and rightfully so. Which coach can create something out of this bunch? Not a single coach is going to transform the likes of Bentancur, Arthur, Rabiot, Bernardeschi, Kean, Morata into assist/goal scoring machines. We are just a very, very average squad that lacks any technical ability. Not even Dybala or Chiesa have more than 10 goals per season in them. We all were naive to think that the team was going to perform better overall after selling Ronaldo, but the only thing it proved was that his goals kept us afloat in the last two years. We got rid of 25+ goals and replaced it with nothing.

Mate, we have significantly less goals than Verona and Empoli. The deeper you play, the less goals you score usually. It's really that simple and not hard to figure out.

It's no oversimplification. It's Occam's Razor. You will *usually* score more if you play higher. The gentleman was concerned about goals. Well if you want to score more, you should play higher. Will you win more? That's debatable.

All the other problems will flow from that. How do you hold the ball when you are recovering it in your 18 yard box? Isn't it easier to maintain possession when you win the ball at half?

Why do you even have to worry about breaking a press? Because you are winning the ball so far in your half, that you get pressed!

Like I said, on the topic strictly of goals, the answer is actually very simple in my eyes.

Our counter attack is literally 1 or 2 players. Usually Morata and/or Chiesa. It's impossible. I see Chiesa starting from our own 18 yard box.

In theory you can counter attack from high up the pitch. Liverpool are good at that for example. High aggressive pressing to win the ball and then release Mane or Salah at super speed. We dont have to win the ball and start the counter from so deep. If we had a more aggressive midfield, Chiesa and Caudrado and Morata can be good on the counter. Ofc most teams sit deep against us in Serie A so this can only work against very few teams... maybe mostly in Europe.

I think that represents half of the goals from our CMs. McKennie 2 and Locatelli 2. No other CM has scored

Mckennie has the same number of goals as Locatelli while playing significantly further up the pitch. It’s a pitiful return for much he’s in the box. Him being far better than Rabiot and Bentancur doesn’t say much. It just illustrates how garbage our midfield is… just like our top attacker having only 5 goals illustrates how garbage our forwards are. Not sure what you’re trying to illustrate here…

You brought up counters and no on being involved in them, but that isn’t entirely true as McKennie is consistently up the pitch when we counter. He just generally doesn’t do anything useful up there.

Anyways, He has potential and gets in good spots, hopefully he improves his end product.

the issues on counters are mainly due to Juve not having a single player who can consistently play early balls into the final third. whenever you do score or create a chance on the counter it’s usually due to individual moments, not usually the pass

I’m not sure if having better forwards helps that issue but it would definitely raise the amount of goals scored in normal run of play
