Merely being a contender even after a positively played out what-if scenario isn't exactly a great forecast for the only acceptable end result (scudetto), is it.

(But this is much better than peddling funny manlet agenda based BS like top 4 being logical, perfectly acceptable target now, that it's every players', mgmt personnel's and club's history's fault, and the coach so far has zero blame.)

Do you also agree that our squad is clearly top two in the league, or is it only Mad Max's genius that would make us a contender?

Any season missing out on scudetto is a failure imo. How blame is apportioned is a different story. The coach always deserves some even if management deserves the lion’s share. So, no, not a great forecast, but I think it’s a reasonable one. This squad doesn’t look near good enough to pull a 15-16 run.

I think our squad is top 2-3 in the league, and dependent on whether players like Bentancur, Rabiot, Tek are completely washed or can recover some degree of form, could even be best. Regardless, this squad is good enough to win scudetto imo, as long as we aren’t looking at 90+ pts. I don’t think this a 90+ pt squad anymore, but a top coach should be able to milk ~85 pts out of it.

Too much is being made of our current standing in the table, we should easily have 7 points were it not for some calamitous errors from Woj.
We have a new manager and lots of fatigued players from the Euros. To top it all of, our biggest player left us 3 days before the transfer window closed, forcing us to completely rethink our game plan for this season.
Allegri isn’t blameless either, his lineup against Empoli was shambolic, and his substitutions haven’t been great so far. I love him, but he has to deliver come May. I expect either a scudetto or a deep run in the CLs (semis).
As Juventus fans, we should support the team through thick and thin. Fino alla fine and all that. It’s extremely petty to want the team to lose just to prove a point. I’ve never liked Sarri but even under him I wanted Juve to win every single game.

Of course we won’t get relegated, but management’s negligence to bring quality midfielders despite seeing the first 2 matches is the main culprit IMO. Under Pirlo we didn’t have any defensive solidity or game plan, so it takes a while to sort those out. Our goalie’s sudden dip in form also didn’t help. Playing without South Americans against Napoli made things even worse. We’re going to play another game like that in October, and iirc it’s going to be against Roma.
Overall I don’t expect a deep scudetto run unless we do something in January.

Agreed with your post, although your expectations of the season's objectives are far too big imo.

In CL, quarters would be very nice. I expect Rof16 however

Expectations from a fan doesn't equal whats acceptable for the club. There is no way this team and this dogshit midfield reaches CL semis

Inter are the only candidates, because they have a better midfield and an on par defense.

I don’t think anyone has a clearly better squad, but nor do we. We have too many unknowns, and too many weak mentality players who are constantly dropping in and out of form for years now. If Chiesa takes the next step to stardom, if Dybala can be consistent, if Morata doesn’t act like a fag for half the season or Kean replicates his form from PSG last year, if Locatelli is as good at a big club as he was at Sassuolo last year, if Bentancur, Mckennie, or Rabiot can actually turn into solid players, if Arthur can come back and actually show some class, if Tek doesn’t make massive blunders every other game, if Sandro’s brief Renaissance isn’t a 4 match thing, etc etc. Too many “ifs” outside our 3 top level CBs to call this the clear best squad in the league. Same deal with Inter after losing Lukaku, although I’d say they are currently the best squad. Milan is in the same boat as us, even though I’d say our ceiling is higher. Even Napoli and Roma dependent on how their young players turn out. There are a lot of young players in the top Serie a teams right now, with a lot of unknowns.

They easily have a better defense than us and most importantly as a unit, they are much better than ours.

We have ageing defenders, ageing fullbacks and an underperforming GK.

If anything, our defense needs as much work as our midfield and that's the sad part about how bad our recruitment has been.

Inter despite losing their best player, have largely retained their spine, hence why they don't seem to have lost a beat.

We lost our best performing player and we are still struggling because we have no spine or no identity.

I can't remember the last time we had so many individual mistakes shambolic defending in the corners and howlers by the goalkeeper in the first four games I thought last year the players could not understand Pirlo coaching method but really we have become a mentally fragile team

They have a functional midfield and defensive unit which makes the individuals look better. Their fullbacks are horrid but the system hides their weaknesses. I wouldnt trade Caudrado or Alex Sandro for any of theirs.

Barella is the only real talent in that midfield. I dont think Brozovic, or Vecino etc.. would do any better here than what we have. They are doing good because there is a system. We have no defined game plan yet. We dont even know what the formation is and who the starting 11 are. Hopefully we stop bleeding points until Allegri can figure out how this team should play.

We´ve conceded in 18 league games in a row, which is worst in Europe. You make even half of those clean sheets and it would be a different story. This team isn´t good enough to keep possession without being countered, nor withstand pressure after taking the lead. So if we have to pick one of them to work on and implement, I too would go for parking the bus if we´re up. We just don´t have the players to do it differently.

But wasn't that the previous criticism of Allegri that there is no attacking identity or game plan as he wants to give the attacking players more tactical freedom
