Rugani played almost exclusively because Chiellini spent half the season injured and Benatia had a little tantrum about Bonucci getting more minutes and forced a move. We literally had no one but Rugani on the bench in the winter. You actually believe Max would have played Rugani-Bonucci in CL knockout matches by choice?
