Ribery is great, but he does not have the energy anymore to play high intensity games as a winger. There are reasons why Fio doesn't extend his contract.

If we want to get someone for left wing, the train already passed with Depay/Calha. Both come for free, reasonable wages (5m/year) and we can sell them after 2 years to recover the wages paid. It is like a free loan for 2 years, and both have ~ 30 goals contribution to their clubs last season

Don't think Wes will be excel as a winger, maybe Rabiot will have more chance to play that left winger role. Remember his cross to CR7 in Udinese game ?
