So I listened to the post game interview. I agree with him on most points

- the team becomes too frenetic when something goes wrong, we can't allow that
-we are too impatient both on offense and defence (trying to win the ball back and losing shape)
-too often do players try to solve problems by themselves, we need to play more as a team
-we need to keep calm during the game when things don't go right, he said Danilo, Cuadrado, Bonucci did this (my feeling is that he's implying he wants more experience)

Do you think this because the way we play last season? Sometimes there some mentality instilled into the players/system after a year playing it.

Against Udinese, we keep playing short passes like last season, and try not to lose the ball but somehow made a mistake by Szczesny for 2nd goal.

Surely he in need that kind of midfield, he only have Locatelli right now who has the calm and ability to do that. But with other players not in the right mindset it will be hard for them to build the game

Tonight it started as a 4-1-2-1-2. It changed to a flatter 4-4-2 with Dybala dropping deep.

But honestly, it looked like a total mess at times. Players just seemed to go wherever, whenever.

We just failed to organize, there is no game plan whatsoever. After Empoli's goal we just crumbled and can't play with the right mindset. Easily lose the possession, can't do the combination that really break Empoli's defense

We got some good combination once Locatelli comes on, but he clearly need a working team around him
- forward runs to utilize the through ball
- space opening players (decoy) to take defenders and create space for him to shoot from 2nd line or give the killer pass to that player if he is not marked properly by opponents defender. with this kind of player, opponent defender will have hard choice to make

With this kind of performance, Locatelli will have good great game but with no end results and that will be so frustrating for him

Really think we will in this dip form even against Malmo, that would be another embarassing like the Empoli game (believe me)
It will push our bid for knockout round hard as we can't pounce on the least team in the group
And the final nail in the coffin will come against Chelsea at 30 September, maybe it will become like ugly City - Arsenal match

I still think board will keep him because we don't have another option. Tuz will still worship him even the ship already sinking

This season will be a 6th position finish or worst, early exit in the CL. We will just skip this season early and make this as transitional season for planning to next season. But it will really hurt us because we can't attract the best talent without UCL, nonetheless in financial terms

If we can't afford Zidane while he is actually available, I will prefer to see what Gasperini can offer than this past glory coach (and call this as transitional season)
I want to see a new legacy being build, because on the paper we actually have some good/great players and young talents to build on
And I sincerely believe he is the right guy to elevate our players like what he does in Atalanta

come on now…. Allegri is a superb manager, he’s the long term future of this club and he needs faith. Zidane can’t turn Bentancur into Modric, he can’t turn Bernardeschi into Ronaldo, Bonucci into Ramos, Ramsey into Kroos, kulusevski into bale or Morata into Benzema…. Zidane inherited the best Real Madrid squad in living memory packed with players at their peak. Look at what he did in his second stint - bang average after those players had faded.

Talk of gasperini… you want to look at the Atalanta recruitment policy and scouting network, they strategically buy their players, they didn’t have Paratici in charge pissing money against a wall buying overhyped and overpaid free agents or stupid plusvalenza trades.

Allegri is the best person that can do this job. This is just the moment that we all realise that the job he is being asked to do with the players at his disposal is a monumental task that anyone would fail. This season is already a write off, CL qualification would be a major achievement

First of all he disappointed me with so many experiments after admitting he fucked up with too many changes against Udinese. Then he does the same thing here, then he tries to fix it with Morata on at half time for McKennie, which should've been for Rabiot because he just came back from injury and we needed more presence in the box. Then tries to fix the Rabiot mistake with Bernardeschi, then takes out Chiesa too soon.

It was just mistake after mistake.

This team evidently lacks experience, winning mentality and actual quality. You can't then put them in an even worse situation by putting out whatever it was he tried last night. We were lost from the start, Empoli looked like prime Barca just passing around and through us at will.

We need another #6 to backup Locatelli, we need a LB and RB and a CB and at least one more CM. We will maybe get Witsel or something. God help Loca to stay healthy for the full season.

nah, it's the midfield. ronaldo was a beast on his day, but couldn't always help. and we won a lot before ronaldo's arrival too.

but look at our midfield. bentancur, rabiot, mckennie is nowhere near pjanic, matuidi, khedira in quality, let alone marchisio, pirlo, vidal, pogba. locatelli and rabiot have some potential at the highest level. the others aren't up either physically (arthur, ramsey) or mentally (bentancur) or technically (mckennie, bentancur). and while most of these guys are here, the bottom line will always be this: fix the midfield before doing anything else.

Nah, it is more of a mentality. We play away to Bologna and win 4-1 last season in the last game even without CR7 (Chiesa, 2 goals from Morata and Rabiot)
This young lads on our disposal actually has something to offer in their legs , as long as they're utilized in a good way. the only sample of this utilized right under Allegri is the pre season against Atalanta and the first half against Udinese. We will be fine if we can keep that kind of play

They need the confidence, calmness to execute the gameplan even if we goes behind. and that is the job of the coach to make sure the players available is in the right morale and mindsets

The last I witness this kind of performance is with Lippi in 1998/99 If I reckon, the time where everything we did is wrong. We can't even clear the ball
Paolo Montero did unnessary foul here and there. Not like Lippi is a bad coach, and not like Allegri is a bad coach this season. Agree about the wrong tactical choices by Allegri this time. I dont like the player selection this time and watch the highlights in 1st half it seems some of our attacking players really slow getting to opponent's box as we dont have pure striker.

For the coach, i actually like how Tuchel and Klopp set up their team. Especially Tuchel, he can turn around some of under performers in Lampard era : Havertz, Alonso, Christensen, Rudiger, Jorginho. And Klopp can trust some of their young players and they perform very well. Now he trust Harvey Elliott to replace Wijnaldum.

But i also believe Allegri is a smart coach which can turn this around.

Maybe that event make him think twice before take jobs at high profile clubs and make him just happy with the mediocre side, who knows

I hope that is the case, but our season will be ruined if that not happen ASAP
I really think we will find some consistency around October or November. And we are already left behind the morale of the more threaten teams as they already in form, and that improvement will proven not enough to beat them. It is like we will suffer because of slow start and the timing will never right for us to bounce back

What im most afraid about this season is that its going to be another transitional season where Allegri will have to make due with what he has and then the real rebuilding will start next summer.

Also, i would like to add that i was laughing at inter that they came straight from a tripleta in 2010, had no proper oposition in the league and yet for 10 years after that tripleta they didnt with shit. Its hapenning to us now, and its inexplainable. We keep saying that its a money problem, but how can that be when we had so much success for 9 straight years. All we had to do is buy one WC player a season and it would have been enough. 40 milion for Bernardeschi, 40 milion for Kulu, Bentancur left unchecked for years, Alex Sandro left unchecked for years. That doesnt hapen in big teams, you have one or two bad seasons and its off with your head.

Fully agree. Just look at the players we field, one by one. None of them are really geniuses. They are all headless runners, but not even that good at running (we are always tired) and with a bit of pressure, they all throw the ball away like Serie C players.

I think it's inevitable to understand this will be a transitional year.
How can it not be? we have too many holes in our squd, this can not be solved in one year. we also lack leadership qualities without king kong. Bonucci isn't one, and the rest are... well.. idiots.
Ideally, we need a new GK, LB, and RB, Fucking entirely new midfield, and probably an LW - that's almost a new line-up.

I expect Allegri to implement tactic discipline and a better mentality, we can not expect more from this squad at this time.
I do not expect to see a relentless pressure game or flawless ball movement. I want to see a solid defence, I want to see a team that can handle pressure and the players are calm and disciplined. once system will be in place we can talk about improvements next summer. right now it's a fucking shitshow, everybody is losing their heads, have no idea how to defend or attack collectively and the mentality of U-19 team.
