We have no one, literally no one to organize our play from deep. We don't have anyone good, but at least we have someone who can play somewhat competently the btb mid role.

Locatelli or a Locatelli-type player is absolute number one priority.

We need both ofc, but if we have to choose (and we shouldn't ofc) a deep playmaker is much more needed.

This 100%. Bentancur is a garbage regista/deep lying playmaker. And the less said about Arthur the better. Embarrassing we spent 72mil+ on him.

I wouldn’t even mind Bentancur staying, but he suits a B2B role far better. He lacks composure and calm distribution ability to organize things from the back.

We should absolutely be buying two mids though. Get Locatelli, and then get Aouar or De Paul, or this kid Gravenberch. Sell Dybala if necessary to fund it, or get Ronaldo off the wage bill, but two mids are essential.

Locatelli is that. Isn’t really some Pirlo style regista/playmaker. Just a good hard-nosed CDM who also has enough skill and intelligence to organize play.

I thought we got Ramsey for Allegri except that he was sacked before he could use the glass man. I think that if the likes of Arthur, Kulusevski, Rabiot and Bentancur (again) are given some guidance and tactical training, they will be like new signings. Bentancur was pretty good under Sarri and Allegri but totally lost this season.
