The overrating of Klopp in the football world.

He’s a good coach, but all of a sudden after last season he’s suddenly the best in football again, when just a year prior people were talking about how he was a flop at Pool. :lol3:

Liverpool has finished 8th, 4th, 4th under Klopp. Lost in the CL final last year which I give him credit for. Lost Europa League final the year before which is a failure. And lost a league cup final which is another failure. They haven’t won a single trophy in his time there, not even a Mickey Mouse domestic cup.

If they win Premier League this year, he deserves to be praised for that, but his first 3 years there haven’t been all that special.
even United with van Gaal and Mourinho and Arsenal with Wenger won trophies in that period :lol3: dont even get me started on Leicester :haha:

about the CL, unless you win it, i think its fairer to judge teams on who they beat rather than how far they go. in our 2 recent trips to the final, we eliminated Barcelona and Real on our way there. we lost to only 3 teams, Bayern, Real and Barcelona. Liverpool last season avoided 5/5 top teams (including us) on their way to the final. only there they faced Real (who eliminated us and Bayern for them) and lost ofcourse. barely beat Roma thanks to a lot of ref errors in that tie and beat ManCity, which was great, but they are basically built as the perfect counter-team to any Pep lead team. this season they barely made it past the group stage against Napoli. to me, thats considered a fluke until they can repeat it, and show up vs a top team.

Klopp is a nice coach for clubs that don't have to win titles year in year out.
he strikes me as a honest Paladin. i hope he finds his way to Neapel one day

Liverpool are on their way to win there first PRL titel in almost 30 years. They reached the CHL final last year with a team that had no place being there. Basicly turned them into a contender both domesticly and in Europe, from a team that had not oerformed in a decade and had a real hard time just getting into CHL places. He got Dortmund their first titel in teen years. Got them to a CHL final with a team that had no place being there.

you underrate Dortmund.

Weidenfeller
Pisczek Subotic Hummels Schmelzer
Kehl Gundogan
Kuba Gotze Reus
Lewa

except Weidenfeller, Kehl and Schmelzer, those others were all among the best in the world in their positions at that time

Lol

Liverpool had no place being there last year? They spent 70mil on a defender. They bought Salah, Mane, Firmino for Klopp.

And for this year they spent a fortune on Keita, Fabinho, Allison.

Keep exaggerating though.

I also said he deserves praise for getting to that CL final. But aside from that, his 3 years so far at Liverpool have been garbage. 8th, 4th, 4th and no cup wins. So yeah, he’s barely got the team into Europe each year. Hardly contending domestically so far. This is the very first year they are contending for a title in England. .

And please, Dolph, Liverpool finished 2nd, 2 points from a title in 13-14. Better than they have finished under Klopp.

As I said, if he wins PL this year, that’s a fantastic accomplishment. But aside from a CL final run in which they avoided most big teams, they’ve accomplished nothing under Klopp so far.

No one is saying he accomplished nothing at Dortmund, but lol that he’s the best coach in Europe for what he’s done at Liverpool up to now.

Comon, .Do you think that Klopp with this squad what Juventus has, he would't have won Serie A a year ago or this season?
After all, it is hard to look at Juventus 18/19, we play such a primitive football. For me, of course, winning is the most important, but why cant we play a little nicer, I dont say that we have to play the most beautiful in the world. But at least a bit nicely? Do you know where the problem is in current football? and I dont like it but it is so. The problem is that today less and less attention is paid to winning the trophys but more on ENTERTAINMENT. It attracts sponsors, viewers, MONEY. Not primitive football that we play today.

I respect and appreciate Allegri, but he has not been developing for two seasons, I would even say that he is retreating. Look at the competition in Serie A. ZERO.
Provincial Napoli (losing every year CL group), internazionale, Milan, after which only the name left. Or the biggest suckers in Italy, AS ROMA(which will win once in 100 years with Barcelona, which will be the greatest achievement in Europe in their history, Such losers.) It seems to me that ManCity is a completely different level of competition in PL. Similarly in Spain, which teams win CL or EL each year.

Who said he is the best coach in Europe? I am just find it funny that you and two other members of the sauna club, keeps arguing that two well accomplished coaches like Pep and Klopp, is somehow bottom of the barell coaches, even though their results shows differently.

There are about four great players in that lineup (Lewa, Reus, Hummels, Gundogan). The rest are decent players but nothing special, and Dortmund had no bench. Overall, that team had no business being in a CL final.

And this team had absolutely no business breaking the all time CL goalscoring record:

Karius
Arnold - Lovren - Van Dijk - Robertson
Wijnaldum - Henderson - Milner
Salah - Firmino - Mane

The kind of football Klopp plays with average players is truly staggering. That midfield is Europa League standard.

He is currently the best manager in the world.

Wat? I've multiple times defended Guardiola as a top coach when members like Dusan call him trash. I think he's a top coach with flaws. I think Klopp is a top coach with flaws. I think Allegri is a top coach with flaws.

And I've read multiple times on this forum that Guardiola, Klopp, etc are far superior to Allegri. Only watch coach has matched Allegri's results of the last 4 years. Zidane. No one else comes even close. There are coaches who have accomplished as much, or more, in the past, but Allegri and Zidane have been the most successful coaches of the 14-15 to 17-18 period.

Parts of this forum criminally underrate Allegri. In 16-17, you, for example, claimed both Spalletti and Sarri were better, and did more with less, and that you'd be happy with either replacing Max. So we can talk about funny there too.

I would still take Sarri over Allegri any day of the week.

8th place, 4th place, 4th place, and not a single trophy at Liverpool thus far suggests otherwise. They beat Roma to get to CL final in which they got spanked. He's a top manager, but the best? He wins PL this year, after spending a few hundred million in the last couple years, he can be up there with the best again. :lol2:

@dolph there you are. The best in the world.

To clarify myself, I do rate Allegri as a top coach and I think he’s one of the best around. However, I rate Klopp as the best coach of the last 2 seasons. If Max does decide to leave us, Klopp would be the dream appointment.

2 seasons? As in last year, and half of this year? Or are you including his incredibly mediocre 16-17 as well?
