First, he built that team using peanuts, and second yes.. this is a very limited team that should be nowhere near winning the Bundesliga against Bayern or reaching the CL final. Hummels and Lewa are obviously worldclass. Maybe Reus too if he isnt always injured. The rest are good but nothing special players and practically zero bench/depth.
You dont consider this group winning the league and reaching a final as punching above their weight? Do you consider this group as on par or equal to the Juve's that reached the finals? What about this liverpool squad?
If you consider reaching a final with Juve is impressive because we have limited squad and monies, then doing the same with BVB and Pool is twice as impressive. Our squads have been heads and shoulders above theirs.
1st, he didnt build shit, he didnt buy none of those players, he was being given them. coaches dont buy players unless they are in England and call themself managers, when will people finally learn this? very limited squad
also, you obviously dont know much about the BL 10 years ago, Bayern was far from what it is today in terms of league dominance, league was also far more balanced than it is now. VW won the title in 2009, Bayern responded with buying Robben, Olic, Gomez etc, and reclaimed the throne. barely, do i need to say? they were tied with Schalke at 64 pts 2 games before season end, they finished with 70 pts out of a possible 101. this Schalke team with Farfan as its star player should have no business competing with Bayern for the title, dot you think? next season, Dortmund won the title, with an astonishing 75 pts out of 101. Bayern was 3rd with 65, 5 pts better than Hannover and 3 pts behind 2nd place Leverkusen, and had they not fired Van Gaal somewhere around March, they wouldnt even have made the CL. props to Klopp for beating this super strong Bayern, and to Leverkusen as well i guess. Sahin was the seasons best player after which he went to Madrid, Kagawa, Hummels, Gotze, Lewa were emerging, it was a young and talented team on a rise that took its opportunity when Bayern was down. next season Bayerns rise started under Heynckes, but they still won only 73 pts (probably due to lack of depth and a deep CL run) and finished 2nd, and still needed some rebuilding to be done. the very next season, Bayern won 91 pts, and from this moment on, Klopp had no chance of ever sniffing to a title again. its the same story with Leicester, they had the luck of all top teams underachieving at the same time, and them having an extraordinary year for their standards, so they managed to win the league with 81 pts out of a possible 114. can you imagine them having their historical year this season? theyd probably finish 3rd or 4th, and wouldnt even be nearly as legendary and memorable as it was. you can say the same about Atletico, atleast one of Barcelona and Madrid have won atleast 91 points in all of the seasons since Ronaldo joined Madrid, except that one time when Atletico won the title and they both finished with 87. still, id consider Atleticos achievement much more impressive than Dortmunds even if it was only one year, since they beat 2 top teams and still needed to win 90pts. Monaco is the other impressive team, they won with 95 pts, so you cant say it was because PSG had a bad year. they legit beat them at their near best.
Klopps and Simeones impressive results are the CL finals they reached, or to be precise, eliminating Barcelona, Bayern and Madrid. same as Allegri. i kind of expect that Dortmund to knock out Shakhtar and Malaga (they barely won with 2 extratime goals) or the champions of Spain to eliminate a Milan and Chelsea side in shambles, or PSV in 2016 (which they barely won, on penalties lol). but those 3 duels vs Barcelona twice and Bayern once for Simeone, and Real Madrid once vs Klopp, those are their most impressive results so far. Allegri eliminated both Real and Barcelona (could have beaten both one more time with no ref mistakes), and could have be the only one to eliminate all of the big 3, if not for Moratas offside goal vs Bayern being disallowed. Klopp this season hasnt beaten a single one of the big 3, and unless he does so, this shouldnt be some extraordinary surprise. he still sucks in the league, never the less
