You could be right, time will only tell but I think they could surprise a few teams in the next couple of years if they can hang onto Potchettino and their key players

Yeah, but that's something mid table teams are responsible for. We're Juventus. We can't be expected to develop players. We should be as good as it gets. When you play for us, you're expected to be the finished product. Only exceptional talents like Pogba or Dybale can be allowed to further develop while already playing for us.

He is on his first season and very young, and he has already gotten to start vs Barcelona and Real Madrid (bad omen, both games we lost 3 nil haha). He is essentially Pjanic's backup so hard to find much playing time, and Allegri has heaped praise on him plenty of times, he CHOSE to start him over Matuidi vs Real and Over Marchisio vs Barcelona (or both of them in both games). That says enough.


Lets not pretend this kid is good enough to start full time yet, but he is for sure very promising, still raw, but love his attitude and drive.

Still developing young talent is a good way to get good players for next to nothing

Maybe Italy in general is not great with youth development as the young players coming through do not seem that talented compared to past generations

Varane is twice the player Rugani is. So maybe that's why Varane is starting for Madrid.

Yep, I like Rugani, but its not a scandal Barzagli starts over him, even if I would rather take the chance on Rugani instead, the job of fully convincing your coach to start is on Rugani, and I'm not convinced he would do much vs Cristiano, even if I rather gamble on starting him for sure over Barza atleast, but when it comes to Benatia, he is better then Rugani and it has nothing to do with age.



Varane is bad comparison, because he is better then all our CBs except Chiellini.

This isn't about who's better. I never said that they were on the same level.


However, Real Madrid had no issues rolling out a 19 year old for 30 matches in his first season there.

That is my point. Real Madrid, a team with everything at stake every single year, gave a teenager ample game time at a position that players grow into slower than anywhere else on the pitch. But we can't do the same with Rugani, regardless of what level he is at in comparison to Varane.

Matuidi has 2199 minutes this season while Bentancur has 745... Hmm!

Ok, i might get smashed for this but the only way he goes on to become an elite player is if Pep Guardiola coaches him. Seeing how Pep is making Sane and Sterling look world class week in week out , i think it wont be a hard task with Dybala. Allegri has different qualities that makes him a WC coach but he cant elevate the level of attacking players like Pep does.

So perhaps Dani Alves was right

This is just a fact. Allegri has his qualities that make him a very good coach, but Guardiola is on another level. He can take players like Pedro and Sterling and make them look world class. Max doesn't improve his forwards like Pep does.

It's a bit of both.

He elevates the level of attacking players. There's no denying that. He improves their productivity which is ultimately what you need. Every coach has his distinct style and as long as it's working , there's no reason for them to change their philosophy. City are a dominant team with Pep. They were not so dominant under other managers.

Dybala would undeniably be a world beater under Pep.

While I do agree that Pep's tactics highlight the strengths of attackers far better than Allegri's do (obvious really), let's not ignore the fact that ManCity has spent 528.8 million euros on players in 2 years for Pep. And while selling very few players. Their net spend is 400 million euros in those 2 years.

They should have an incredible squad.

Rugani over Barza for pace reasons is just picking one snail over another, and Asa has looked more solid in defense than Alex Sandro for huge parts of the season now, and again one isn't much pacier than the other.

Individual errors can happen to everybody.

Also disagree on the subs, spot on most of the time.
