He contained the best attackers (including Neymar) last season twice. Our defense is obviously stronger with bon bon in it. This is a partnership that has been in development both for Juve and national team for years.

Im not worried. We were not as bad as everyone is acting. We have a lot to talent in this team. Compare it to what Conte had in his first season. The paint is not yet on the canvas yet people are already freaking out. The squad needs time to gel and learn. I am very optimistic. With Dybala, Costa, Bernaradeschi, Higuain, Pjanic, Mandzukic, Cuadrado, Bentancur, Marchisio, MAtuidi, Rugani, Alex Sandro, Caldara, Kean... our Future is so bright.

The defensive unit that had him and Alves didnt suffer against Messi, Suarez, Neymar.

Even if Alves had stayed the loss of Bonucci (the long life partner to our defenders) is a big one.

2. We run out of steam easily and do not have the stamina to attack for 90 minutes straight.

These are two clear problems that have been evident now throughout Max's entire ternature whenever we play big teams.

I'm not sure if we can blame the players either. Napoli, Dortmund, Liverpool, and Tottenham all have inferior players to us, yet know how to attack like a team, and they don't run out of gas after 20 minutes.

This is entirely down to the manager and his coaching.

Ever wonder why we have been consistently having bad starts to the season from an offensive standpoint?

One reason is that it takes time for players to gel and we always lost key offensive players that cant be replaced.

Thats true but only half the truth. The second half is that we don't have a detailed attacking plan. We never did under Allegri. Allegri puts players in some positions and gives broad instructions and lots of freedom. He doesnt drill movements and combinations the way Conte does for example. This means that the players have to figure out what to do on their own and a loss of a key player means that a new style has to be developed organically using the new players as opposed to drilling an existing system into them (think Klopp or Pep for instance).

It naturally takes a lot of time for patterns to start to emerge and for the players to start having a "telepathic understanding" when there is no clear system and they haven't played a lot together. Barca had the same Allegri approach when they had MSN because if you force these 3 in a system you'll end up limiting their genius potential to combine. You'll recall that it was not the coach's plan (enrique) to have Suarez down the middle but rather the players that came up with it mid game and then he liked it and kept it.

This is the Allegri style of offense. The more talented the offensive players you give him, the more they can with that freedom.

You are probably thinking what a load of BS. We didn't overhaul the attack this season we just added depth plus our attack has been scoring very well in the last few games.
This is true but in the Serie A games we used the same players from last season and so they already have that chemistry. Today we didnt start Mandzukic and Cuadrado and that hurt us going forward despite the fact that those that did start are more talented players.

Its gonna take a while before we see Costa and Bernandeschi really gel and develop their own attacking patterns with Dybala and Higuain. We will probably have to wait for half a season.

No one is going to change any system as of yet. One loss away to barca with tons of injuries and new players won't change anything. At least I trust the team not to over-react to that loss.

I can't help but imagine what someone like Sarri, Pochettino, Tuchel or Klopp could get out of this team.

We have so much individual talent like Higuain, Dybala, Costa, Bernardeschi, Pjanic and co. But it's becoming increasingly obvious that Allegri has no offensive gameplan.

Allegri is like Mourinho. His philosophy is structuring an organized defense first and foremost, and let the players figure it out for themselves on the other side of the pitch.

Problem is that defensive tactics doesn't win Champions Leagues anymore; every CL winning team since 2013 scored goals for fun. We can't score goals to save our lives.

Not going to put blame on him as he had a lot of personnel out and some other put in a stinking performance, but there is this one thing bugging me.

Half of our defense yesterday could've been a lot better if it was Licht and Rugani instead of MDS and Benatia. And this is not me talking in hindsight, this is something at least 80% of Juve fans would've preferred before the game, he made some really strange, unpopular choices and they've backfired bad.

yeah, but Sandro and Barzagli are at least reliable, you know that they'll get their shit together eventually, I wouldn't be so sure about MDS and Benatia being good enough at any point this season, it is strange that Max prefers these guys to Licht and Rugani
